Going through this right now. Not taking care of yourself is the worst thing you can do. Not talking about it is a very close second. I'd almost flip them around because if you're taking care of yourself you're talking about it. Don't watch the world crumble around you trying to be the strong one.

Seriously, just buy the Amazon Basics driver, and have at it. Me, I'll buy this, and actually use it, and I'm glad that Linus is being a pain in the a*s, he earned it before you whining millennials were even born.

I never said I agreed with his post at all, but you chose to assume my allegiance instead of reading what I actually wrote. Along with fanboys come haters, both relying on a non objective view/reaction of the situation. You think he's doing bad, and that's fine. You're more than entitled to that opinion. But that's your OPINION, you don't just magically get the right to force him to stop voicing HIS OPINION. Free speech is not speech with no consequence, it's speech subject to public scrutiny. He has the right to say what he wants even if he's wrong. And we have the right to disagree with him and voice our opinions in response, even if WE are wrong. But no one gets to force him to close his mouth or take his phone away. Now I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume you weren't actually threatening to run to his house, assault him and steal his phone. I thought your post was a joke before I realized you're serious.

Everything you said is wrong. If you can't figure out why, just trust me. It's natural for people to attack and defend products. Linus is doing fine.

The best way is usually to speak to professionals about such, especially suicide but I know that it isn't easy to get rid of all the issues when the person who caused them is still in her life and still is actively abusing her.
 
What I did when I was in a similar headspace as her (although not nearly as bad) is I completely distanced myself from the person who made me miserable and shut them out of my life. Doesn't matter who the person is, they need to go otherwise she'll never start getting better.
 
If I was in your situation, I would personally seek help for her and, somehow with the help of professionals, convince her to get rid of that person. After that it would be much easier to fix the whole thing over time.
 
Hope you guys can figure out a way of this terrible situation. It wasn't easy alone and I'm sure it's a hell of a lot harder when you have an entire family to take care of as well.

By all means, if you dont enjoy what you’re watching you definitely should stop watching.  There are fantastic channels dedicated to things like server and networking content, they’re not going to release videos in anything close to the same volume as a channel like LTT, 

As for your complaints about content, first of all Intel’s operating budget for advertising last year was 1.1 billion dollars, let me tell you they could literally never stop giving LTT staff members upgrades at two per month and they would never ever notice that level of expenditure, paying for a sponsored video on LTT likely comes close to that price tag but they literally dont have anything to really advertise.  This way they get a decent advertisement, the LTT team gets cool new stuff, and we get a pretty fun video.  That amount of money feels like a lot when you get to spend it on anything you want(assuming you’re not into anything more expensive than gaming hardware, if one of the people who gets an upgrade is a prosumer photographer thats gonna be a very very small pile of gear.  “Here’s my processor and here’s my Lens, have a good one!”)  So realistically this is no more significant than any other sponsored video.  They absolutely let intel ARC have it when they reviewed the laptop card so my guess is most people aren’t worried about credibility and if they are…well good luck finding a source you can both really trust and can afford the level of testing that will provide you with things you actually want to know.  GN is probably one, but there’s a reason they put out a video every four days instead of every day and get about 20% of the views.  

You dislike the videos about his house, alright, what should they be shooting then?  Another video about the RTX 3060?  Re review 12th gen intel processors?  The fact is we’re in a bit of a desert for releases right now, 40 series cards are coming, Ryzen 7000 series are coming soon, god knows what’s going on with ARC, but there really just….isnt much going on for tech that people would be terribly interested in.  I’m glad you enjoy server and networking but as you also seem very focused on mid tier cost content for people who are in that range(ie not someone who would want a theatre room) how much content for servers and networking really is going to appeal?  95% of people will never have any reason to directly interact with setting up or maintaining a server, and networking starts and ends with connecting to the Wi-Fi in their house on the router their cable company provides.  

Is the advertising on WAN show annoying?  Alright dont watch it, thats easy.  Posting here is the most useless thing you can do, LTT seems to be extremely analytics driven.  If a certain style of video doesnt perform particularly well, they wont do it anymore(see scrapyard wars) Any business of LTT’s size that let itself be swayed because a few dozen people were upset about the style of content they are producing is one that will go out of business almost immediately.  Just stop watching, if enough people agree with you then I 100% promise you’ll get exactly what you want very quickly, if not then hey, no worries, there is TONS of other content for you to consume.

I love videos that focus on his house (both the new and old). Part of it is getting to live vicariously through Mr. Sebastian, what renovation and gadgets are included when the time and money budget is really high. In particular I love the server and network stuff, there is no way I could justify pursing a new epyc server to my partner (or myself). Instead I purchase used equipment which my from pov is functionally the same.
I also find the helpful in two ways; inspiration and future products.
A lot of the tech in Linus's house is currently out of reach for most of the audience, but we will see prices fall and in a couple of years it will become common place.
When I watch the videos I often see something cool which I would like to add to my own home. For example the using home assistant which person detection is something I am currently building out. I definitely am going a different route, but the end product and goal are the same.
 
Regarding the "Intel $5,000 Extreme Tech Upgrade", I don't see how it breaks any rules. I don't think it is possible for a viewer to not realize it is sponsored by Intel, which makes it extremely legal in Canada. It would be problematic if the videos did not disclose that Intel was the sponsor (last time I checked it was in the video name).
However I think there is a legitimate concern about the impact this type of sponsorship can have on editorial independence. I cannot speak for everyone (duh), but I feel their coverage of Intel produce has remained impartial (sometimes they recommend AMD, sometimes Intel). I think the best way a viewer can get comfortable is by understanding their testing methodology.
I also enjoy watching how the lmg use the 5k (Denis used it the best with the neon sign). It is cool to see different approaches based on different interests.
 
As for selling stuff on the WAN, it's how they pay the bills (I think, I don't access to their balance sheet). Most of the show seems to be Linus and Luke covering tech topics. But I love hearing the development history of their new products, it is something of which I have no experience and I think most of the audience enjoy watching some talk about something they are passionate about. This coming from someone who has never purchased anything from ltt (I have been considering the underwear and backpack).
 
To balance things out and attempt to show I am not a sycophant, I do think LTT has some misses. The roast video seem low value and some what mean spirited, but I might be an old fogey.

I personally love extreme upgrades it’s fun to see the employees different personalities and preferences be showcased with there picks for an upgrade . 
 
I also love seeing the house upgrades I think it’s fascinating to see someone so smart build there home and I don’t view it as braggy at all.

As far as tech goes, there aren't as many so many new awesome for everyone things to show.

Building PCs was a thing a while until literally no one was able to afford a good midrange PC anymore and complains started, why so expensive wah... cancelled! wah...

Creating content isn't that easy anymore, to pump out as many vids as LTT does, yes there are some that are meh, others are plain awesome. 
 
Yes I sometimes skip a whole video... but hey... I don't need to enjoy everything they make, but LTT is still a good source for me for entertainment and let me think outside the box sometimes, or facepalm other times... which is funny too for me... 
 
So what, watch the stuff you like, and that you don't just don't watch. It is as easy as this.

I still enjoy most of the videos they do, but especially the cheesy sponsor segues and LTTstore plugs get increasingly more annoying. But hey, for every 20 people or so that participate in a thread like this there are 1000 people that like where they're going. And because of that it isn't going to stop. The reason why their videos look more and more like tik-toks (just look at the intros of the last 10 videos and you'll know what i mean) is because it pulls in a wider audience. In the end that is what matters to them because that brings in more advertising money, not pleasing their core audience.
 
Still, i think they're doing a good job at being the "gateway drug" of tech content. For anyone that has a deeper interest, there are other channels like Hardware Unboxed and Gamers Nexus that do a much better job at in-depth content.
 
We'll see what happens if the lab ever starts putting out content. I really hope for another great purely objective review source like RTINGS, Hardware Unboxed and Gamers Nexus. I still think Linus is going to force too much subjective stuff into their lab content rather than letting his test engineers do their thing. Time will tell.

To be fair, not rarely do Intel extreme upgrade videos include a bunch of stuff that isn't even Intel related, or could even be the competition, like some people getting iPads in their Intel extreme upgrade for example.
The merch things are in most videos quite alright, as it's usually just a few seconds "waterbottle, lttstore.com", it's not even long enough to skip 5 seconds ahead, so I don't mind those too much.
The "this segway/segue to our sponsor..." is however more annoying if it's in the middle of a video, if it's right before the intro, it's easier to skip.
In terms of the WAN show, i tend to just watch it a day later and use the timestamps in the comments to skip through the ads section of the WAN show.
 
Ads have a negative effect on me. The more an ad annoys me, the less likely I'll buy your product. Ads that I see all day are almost entirely banned from any of my future shopping lists. I just freaking hate ads and if you keep shoving them down my throat, you're just making sure I won't ever buy that product or sometimes even the entire brand in the next few years. Not a single ad has ever made me buy that specific product.

I really dont understand the point of this post, you say you arent jealous but then proceed to sound incredibly jealous 😂.
Personally, I am really enjoying the content lately, also they have worked really hard to be able to afford the nice things that they have.
i dont see why you would try to make them feel bad about that.
