Anybody with Z590 Hero have trouble installing the Chipset driver? I had a helluva time trying to get it to install with BSODs & freezing every time I tried to install it. I think I finally got it installed, I say I think because it installed without a crash but it doesnt show anywhere in my add/remove program list (Im referring only to the chipset driver Version 10.1.18634.8254 by the way not the MEI driver. Can you M13Hero owners look in your add/remove programs and see if the chipset driver is listed please? I also canNOT install the GNA driver, it fails every time but maybe I need to enable it in the bios. Im still not exactly sure what the GNA driver does? I have NOT had good luck lately. I just upgraded my Kaby Lake system to a M13H & an 11900k & two days later my 2 monitors started dropping out & shortly after my 980ti K|NGP|N completely stopped being recognized by windows! So Im now in the process of putting the watercooled gpu in the 2nd pcie slot to see if its a defective motherboard or GPU So if anyone knows where I can get a 3080 reasonably please let me know? (has to have a waterblock available)

Realbench 2,56V Image Editing Low Score
sdmf74 replied to thenotoriousmma's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Ive been trying like hell to figure out why my realbench score used to be Much higher than I can achieve now (like 115,00 vs 85,000). I wonder if its cause I used to have Asus ramdisk and Asus RamcacheII installed on my pc & my current realbench benchmarks are being ran without those softwares installed??? Can anyone confirm if those softwares make a big differecne in Asus realbench scores? -

The Best Documented PC Coolants
sdmf74 replied to For Science!'s topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I just read this memo/warning from singularity computers (cause im gonna buy a SC reservoir/pump top) and compared with your chart to see if I could determine one or more ingrediants that could cause issues with his acrylic/acetyl but unfortunately there wasnt really enough information to make any determinations. Ive also been considering making my own coolant, possibly with distilled water of course and Mayhems Biocide+ & inhibitor (the ones in 15ml bottles) and some Propylene Glycol (since I make my own eliquid & have alot of it) but Im not sure if the PG could cause an issue, possibly at higher percentages? It seems most companies use between 6%-15% of Propylene Glycol in their coolants however looking at your chart it looks like XSPC uses up to 50%-100%! (which seems like way too much). -
Most powerful pump available?
sdmf74 replied to matetx2012's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
No thanks I had 4 gentle typhoon 3000rpm fans blowing directly on my mcp50x DDC so it didn't overheat, just junk. It's gonna have to be 1 or 2 D5 pumps preferably 1. Thanks though -
Most powerful pump available?
sdmf74 replied to matetx2012's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
So what did you find? I too am looking for a more powerful pwm pump. I had a swiftech mcp50x that died after only 9 months and im currently using an Aquacomputer d5 pwm that has extremely weak flow in my caselabs case. -

sdmf74 replied to SmashinMachine's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory

what's different ASMedia 1142 between 2142
sdmf74 replied to darkmomo's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Yes I believe thats this one here, ASUS MAXIMUS IX FORMULA. pROLLY a couple other out by now too Two ASMedia ASM2142 provide the USB 3.1 on the rear IO and the USB 3.1 internal header. The ASMedia ASM2142 is the next generation USB 3.1 controller that replaces the ASM1142 and links to the PCH through two PCI-E 3.0 lanes instead of a single PCI-E 3.0 port so that you get 16Gb/s of bandwidth instead of just 8Gb/s for the 10Gb/s USB 3.1 ports. An ASMedia ASM1543 is used as the USB 3.1 type-C switch and CC logic chip. -
ROG_EXT port work as a USB 2.0 header?
sdmf74 replied to MattO's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
So are you guys saying that you have used the ROG EXT left part of the 2 part connection that has only 8 pins (in red) as a standalone usb header for things like front panel case usb 2.0 ports? The blue one is of course a usb 2.0 header but I am only referring to the red one. Does it work without issue? I mean cause wouldnt you be missing the 9th pin ground wire in that case? I have only used both connectors simultaneously for connecting the rog front base -
EK fcb 6+ weeks / Bitspower isnt making one cause they feel its ok for us to have to ****** rig the 980 kingpin block for the 980ti K|NGP|N. Best bet is a universal block and use stock K|NGP|N cooling plates for mem & vrm till EK & BP get their heads out their *****.

[OC3D] Asus Maximus VII Formula Unboxing Video
sdmf74 replied to Accursed Entity's topic in Tech News
We shall find out soon enough, I know that all of the fan connectors are PWM and Z97 will be compatible with Intels next socket 1150 cpu and all "copper" hybrid cooler on new motherboard and PCIe clips are red instead of white and slightly different armor
