  1. Personally I have this one: https://eustore.ifixit.com/en/Tools/Toolkits/Pro-Tech-Toolkit.html
  2. I've replaced a few screens now and usually if there's no glue involved in the screen mounting it's pretty easy and looks like the original. ^^
  3. Personally I use the iFixIt toolkit. It's €60 or 60$ where ever you're at, and has a bunch of screwdriver heads, and overall tools for small electronics repairs. If you don't want to buy the whole kit. iFixIt sells replacement parts like screens for most flagship phones and you can usually add a small tools bundle for 5 bucks that includes the required tools.
  4. Do you have access to another GPU you could test in your system? I went trough a few GPU's that made my nVidia driver crash and the only thing that helped was a new GPU.
  5. Those components around your CPU socket are responsible for the power delivery to the CPU and can get VERY hot, so yes, it's preferred to leave the cooling there.
  6. As far as I'm aware, any GPU should be compatible with any motherboard. What GPU are you upgrading from and what CPU do you have, it's possible that this is just a case of CPU bottle necking.
  7. There's a PSU Tier list on this forum, the higher on the list it is, the better.
  8. No problem, weird things like this can happen, probably a bad port or some internal components or something. ^^
  9. If it's a blue screen you can check what the error is by using BlueScreenView. If you don't have mini dumps enabled you will have to do that first.
  10. Yes, I can read, thank you. I was just wondering, maybe he doesn't play any other games so saying it only occurs in Overwatch wouldn't matter.
  11. What do you mean by crashing? Does your PC freeze, does it randomly reboot or something else? And this doesn't occur in any other games?
  12. Okay, have you tried using another input on the monitor itself, and/or a different cable, and/or a different output on the GPU?
  13. Have you tested this on another monitor? Just to make sure it isn't the graphics card.
  14. Take your pick. MSI GTX 1080ti Armor OC EVGA 1080 FTW OC
  15. If you're actually comparing a normal 1080 vs a 1080ti, the ti will perform better, but if you're just talking about build quality and what not, EVGA is should be better.
  16. Same here, I bought a second hand Macbook Pro (also the early or late 2014 edition) and it still had a few months of apple care. After owning it a few months the charger suddenly stopped working. So I brought it to a certified Apple re-seller or whatever you call them, and they gave me a new charger.
  17. Yeah you better don't mess with those things, even if your cables are able to run the things you want, there's a big chance the internal components just won't hold up and in a worst case scenario just start burning.
  18. And get a back-up of those files if there's really files on there that you don't have anywhere else.
  19. i7 isn't really specific, if you compare an i7 from 6 years ago to a new part of course that new part will be faster, that's just how IPC evolution works. Also, there has been a lot of testing that's been done on all chips from this generation and previous generations so just look for them on the LTT YouTube Channel and everywhere else on the internet.
  20. Yeah, I do have to agree this build is a little imbalanced. Also make sure to check if the HUE is compatible with the Corsair fans with the controller. ^^ I googled it but I can't find anything about the controller that comes with those fans. The fans themselves are not compatible with the HUE controller. EDIT: And since you're doing RBG fans, maybe check for a motherboard that has some kind of RGB support like Aura Sync, RGB Fusion or whatever. So that you can sync everything up.
  21. PUBG probably not, I can't even do that with my 1070 on low, BF1 and RS:S are a big if, and I have no idea about how heavy COD is to run.
  22. Well, that depends on what kind of key it is. If you bought it separately then you can just continue to install Windows with that same key. If it's an OEM key (Like those that come with pre-installed PC's) then you'll have to get a new one.
  23. Adaptive Sync is different from G-Sync, I found that here. Not sure about everything else though.
  24. I use VMWare Workstation Pro for my school VMs. You can also try VirtualBox by Oracle, which is free.
  25. Any Samsung SSD would do, they're overall really reliable, an 850 EVO 500GB goes for around 160 last time I checked. This one is SATA though, I'm not sure if you're going for this or want an M.2 SSD instead. There's also an M.2 version of this drive but it's a little bit more expensive.
