Thanks lol, way too much work for my smooth brain

Jamarlie got a reaction from Allan B in USB prevents BIOS from loading?
I know an ISO is not bootcode which is why I said "iso installed on a drive" which would make it bootable.
They can be hidden all they want, I didn't check the stick with Windows but with Linux and if there's anything on there it'd tell me.

Now I think I might have fixed the issue? I went into the drive and just deleted the "System Volume Information" folder, for some reason that magically made the PC boot again? I'm kinda lost for an explanation on that one, but I wouldn't be surprised if Windows was the thing bricking it.

It's a double edge sword. On one hand I am super glad my loop still looked the way it did and about the fact that it was still in extremely good condition.
On the other hand I am a bit salty that I worried so much my loop was gonna corrode and flood my PC in a disaster the likes of a biblical catastrophe.
Oh well, all in all it swallowed 8 hours of my time but hey, I kinda knew back when I opted for a custom loop that I would have to do maintenance at some point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also one upside of the entire ordeal was that I found out I had the fins on my CPU block installed the wrong way. They were parallel to the water outlet instead of perpendicular. That shaved off 10°C of my core temperatures. Now my PC runs comfortably at a cozy 50°C after 30 minutes of synthetic load

Jamarlie got a reaction from 0ri0n in What's the worst that could happen with a fly INSIDE your PC?
    So, small story at first:
A few days ago I had a pretty annoying fly in my room.
It suddenly disappeared so I didn't really think about it too much any more...
Until I saw a shadow on my wall through the LEDs that I installed inside my PC...
I am using a Sharkoon BW-9000-W tower and it is standing on the edge of a small ledge because of the massive reservoir mounted to the back. The thing has a pretty big air inlet below the case in the front, the fly must have flown in there and up through the drive-bay area INSIDE my PC. I immediately sh*t my pants when I saw it in there and I think I've never taken off my side panel so fast as in this moment.

Now my question after thinking about this for a while: Was my anxiety even justified?
What is the worst that could have happened in that situation?
Maybe a small addition, I am using an ASUS Sabertooth Mark S with the thermal armor, so I'd assume it could have flown back there and maybe took a poop on one of the resistors or something causing them to be shorted.
Or it could have simply been sucked into my Noctua Industrial PPC fans I have and shredded to bits, thus causing it's shreds to land right on my GPU or something. Maybe it could have also been pushed inside my radiator?
Would be nice to know if I should be worried or not if something like this happens the next time around ^^'
