Hey dude how have you been ?
  3. I payed in March 2016 at MicroCenter 90 bucks for 2x8 GB DDR4 3000MHz from EVGA. It´s really not funny to build a PC right now.
  4. Due to the fact that all DRAM manufacturers focus more on the mobile sector at this point and also in the near future I don´t think we will see DDR4 prices decrease by any meanings. Unfortunately I think the prices will even increase more. The prices are quite crazy I have to admit... I mean I payed for 32GB 3466MHz G.Skill more than for the freaking X299 motherboard...
  5. Seems totally legit, with that mild OC result there´s no need to prove anything ;). Damn if I´d known you earlier I could have saved some bucks by skipping a delidded 7820X :(.

Finally an enthusiast grade GPU... took ´em lon…

I´ve bought the GTX1080... ended up in my mITX HTPC. I want more power. Once I´ve got the FullCover Block and Mod BIOS on the Titan X it will be a beast :).
  8. Finally an enthusiast grade GPU... took ´em long enough! New Titan X(P) incoming.

I'm not really in the need for one right now, but i would still like to know the price. I'll PM you later.

  11. Yeah I´m well aware of that but I was just stating that you will need the raw rendering horse power if you have a display with more Hz or higher resolution. But I would prefer a display (other than my 4K where 60Hz is obviously max right now) with more than 60Hz for gaming. I just hate tearing to death, just as much as micro stuttering from multi GPUs. So either FreeSync or G-Sync or 144Hz if it´s not 2160p.
  12. You can run Freesync monitors with nVidia cards and G-Sync monitors with AMD cards, just without their individual technology. But the monitor will still run with the max Hz rate if your GPU is able to produce the amount of FPS. That being said if you´re looking into 144Hz 1440p it´s going to be much harder than 60Hz 1440p i.e.
  13. Well if you have the GPU raw horse power to support it sure.
  14. The build is rock solid for 1080p gaming and gives you even more headroom for upgrading in the future. Well I went this route, because your budget is too tight for a system SSD and a storage SSD IMHO. Storage should be considered at elast 1 TB+ for games, data, music, etc. This build allows you to put the OS on the SSD and your favorite games and all other stuff is just fine on a slower disk. I personally use HDD´s here for my rendering and compressing as cache drives.
  15. I´d go with something like this. Has a powerful current gen Skylake and a good mid range GPU that will do very well in 1080p. Price is within what you are looking for. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xb3KCJ
  16. I´ve worked quite a lot with Plasti-Dip and had nothing but positive experience. I can only recommend that as well.
  17. Looks like a solid gaming machine and serving your purpose well.
  18. Welcome to the forums. To give you some ideas, you should tell us what must be included in your 800 USD budget. Is it just the machine itself? Do you need an OS, monitor, periphery?
  19. Well it is always depending on the features you want to get from a different chipset of a mainboard aside from the Z170 for Skylake, just for OCing. In your case I´d check out if a cheaper mainboard gives you everything you want or need for your machine. In many cases a cheaper chipset for a just gamging machine that features a non OCable CPU, are just good enough. Given the fact as you stated by having no further upgrading plans in the near future.
  20. If the specs of Polaris are true... good night enthusiasts 2016...

  21. Got my respect for this! I´m working on a Node 304 with full size GPU and custom watercooling myself. That´s why I know how remarkable your project is!
  22. It depends on the PC. I. e. the PC in my profile picture needs a bit more attention because it is a show build and I want it to look pristine all the time. My other PCs get cleaned about every 6 months, except my home server that I only clean once a year.
  23. If you have got the budget to switch to an i5 I´d do it. Go with an Haswell i5 and you have already the RAM. The gain of FPS is really high over the FX6350 and games that live of a strong single core performance will be so much smoother.
  24. If he can go for a H97 mainboard and an i5 he would be all set for a good while. Even Sandybridge is still relevant in gaming nowadays. So Haswell will last for the next years easy. And if I had to choose between a Skylake i3 and a Haswell i5 I´d take the i5 in a heart beat over the i3.
