  1. I love the concept, and that it's smart-enabled. Easy way to watch Netflix in a random room without having to carry anything else.
  2. That's it Pohernori, I tried 60Hz and all the values drop to "sleep" mode, like the other card. I guess I need to get used to that....:( Thanks mate
  3. Yes, bought a PG279Q at the same time as the card, so 165Hz G-SYNC monitor yes.
  4. Hi everyone, I've had an EVGA GTX 970 SSC (3975) for over a year now and that one works fine. When not used (browsing, on the desktop, etc), it overs around 135Mhz as core clock, memory at 324Mhz, fans are off, power consumption is around 7% and voltage is at 0.86V. BIOS version is 84.04.31.00.70. My problem is with the new EVGA GTX 970 SSC (3975) I installed yesterday to get SLI. This one, while the other "sleeps" stays relatively high. Core clock stays around 963Mhz, memory at 3506Mhz, fans are on (260rpm), power consumption is at 22% and voltage is at 1.006V. It never goes lower than that. BIOS version is 84.04.36.00.72. The cards are not overclocked. I just booted my computer since shutting it down last night, monitoring window is fresh. See the GPU-Z screenshots attached for each card. Any advice to make the new card behave like my old one does is really appreciated. Worldinc
  5. To be honest, all 4 products look amazing. It's hard to say which one looks the best, but I guess I'd have to say the heaphones with the wood finish are incredibly nice.
  6. Huge Star Wars fan, of course. Read all the books before they destroyed that universe... Game looks great! Good luck everyone!
  7. Hi everyone, I just finished building my O2+ODAC unit. All the tests turn out good, all voltages read as expected. My first test was to test out the O2 itself using the audio-in jack. This test was perfect, max volume is way too loud for my ears, sound is clear, no hiss or anything like that. My next test was to test the ODAC on my PC. Running Win 8.1 x64, the ODAC is seen as soon as I plug it in. When I played something, I couldn't hear anything. Until I realized that if I maxed out the volume, I could hear the music at whisper-quiet volume. Nothing is wrong with the sound besides volume. What could have gone wrong during my build that could cause this? Thanks
  8. I don't really like the ASUS software and I'd like to avoid it in the future. What about the other 2? Do you need special hardware to work with them? I already have a Corsair RM750 so Corsair Link might be useful but I'm having a hard time finding a download link. One of the features I really want is to be able to turn the fans off, not just set them to low. Do all of these support that?
  9. Yes you should plug in your pump in CPU_FAN and use a Y splitter to plug both fans into CPU_OPT. I ran this setup in a Define R4 and it was fine. It will be super silent
  10. Hi everyone, I'm looking for a fan controller that supports fans being completely off. I'd like it to be able to automatically control fans but also support manual mode. Don't care if it's touch or knobs/sliders. Here's the back story: My experience with fan control is with the Define R4 fan controller and with the software controller on my ASUS motherboard. The Define R4 controls aren't granular enough and don't support fans turning off. The ASUS software does support fans turning off but I don't like the software at all. Any suggestions? EDIT: I only need to control 4 fans but i'd like to have support for more. I need at least 3 seperate controls/sliders.
  11. Username: Worldinc Video #1: https://www.vessel.com/videos/JYZEYDYx0 Video #2: https://www.vessel.com/videos/LCoY5zfFf I just want to say i'm super happy you guys are moving to a platform where making money on videos is going to be less of a worry. I'm curious though what are going to be the monthly fees for users? Anyone know?
  12. Thank you for your answers everyone. I bought the E10K and will give it a try.
  13. What about DAC quality? Will I notice a difference in DACs that are that innexpensive compared to my motherboard? What about the difference between the 2 DACs I mentionned? Thanks!
  14. Hi everyone, I'm curently using onboard audio from my ASUS Maximus VII Hero. This weekend, I bought some Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X as an upgrade from my previous headset (Corsair Vengeance 1500v2). I know only basic stuff about DACs and AMPs, like the fact that my AD700X are rated at 50 ohm and don't need an AMP. The main problem I'm trying to solve right now I that I don't have hardware volume control on my headphones. I was looking at buying something simple that would act as a relay between my headphones and motherboard that had a volume knob on it. Then I found out there are some cheap DAC/AMP out there (like the Fiio E10K and the Syba SD-DAC63057). I'd like to spend less than 75$, have a volume knob, and possibly improve the sound quality over my motherboard. I don't mind whether it uses 1/4" or 1/8". I do prefer mini-USB over micro-USB if possible. I also don't care about aesthetics or portability. Any advice? Thanks!
  15. People posting commentary on 970 performance are completely missing the point. The company lied. Who cares which department did? Do we need an employee name? The whole company can be blamed for this failure. It has nothing to do with the card itself, it all has to do with the lies they told everyone about the card. They sold something on false facts and corrected themselves only after consumers found the flaw. Nvidia needs a consumer protection group to get up in their face.
