ZOTAC sent us their two beastly editions of the GTX 970. These cards look pretty darn cool in our opinion, but do they overclock as well as their flashy design would suggest?

We felt that a fix was necessary.
Unfortunately we can't swap the new on in for the original on the channel at this point, but there's an annotation and link in the video description if new viewers aren't satisfied with the original.

I agree with the lack of quality.
It's hard to tell between intentional or a mistake, so I thought I'll just leave this here for reference incase was the latter:

1:37~2:00 Physical description of the laptop, no b-rolls.
2:23~2:47 Ports and IO description, no b-rolls.
6:17~6:25 Why on earth is the graph zooming in and out as if I'm on acid
    6:36~6:40 Acid trip again
7:16~7:27 random gpu performance graph. Nothing to do with battery boost. I think previous graph should be here.

I hope this is not a lazy work. I believe basic, important things should be the priority before extra spicing(stuffs like 'eye m&m :o').

    Subquality video than usual imo

Talking about the back of the display and the ports, without showing any b-roll of it while talking about it. Video seems a bit rushed imo

Good notebook though, which is nice

If they do it something like this, then the metro type interface can actually be useful. Like having a thing set up to show a Twitter feed or something in the start menu.

I tend to agree with you OP. I'm not a super long term subscriber like you seem to be, but I do feel that coverage in the channel has changed. This may be bad but I believe this is the right step.
But seriously, some are complete outliers (Lumio lamp. Really?).

I'm completely fine with one video per day -  they are well scripted and planned. I feel they are reasonably insightful and opinionated. Most of his latest coverage (such as Z97-WS,  A5+, CMstorm keyboard, A2+, node804) are all covered in depth and he has expressed his opinion based on his usage on his products as usual.

Yes, I believe he should be finding more 'Hidden gems' you have mentioned. I think Pebble is the most recent 'gem' (or may be that cool gigabyte mouse) - its been ages.
Plus, where is the handy tech under $100 series?

Prioritizing PAX over Computex kinda blew me off guard too during the WAN show. I thought it was just me, I'm glad you felt the same lol

Small complaint, I wish Slick stops frowning in the videos.. makes them almost annoying to watch lol. I didn't even watch the latest Data Storage video due to the thumbnail with his serious frowning expression. Frowning is not required to be serious and professional.
But I still love you Slick xoxo I watch WAN show to watch you smile #notcreepyatall

Outro is too long.. At least we don't have that ridiculous mid-video sponsor message I hate audible audio book thing and will never use it for the memories of bad, annoying coverage by him.

I have to say, I find the arguments in the first post of this topic almost stupid. It's a typical thing to say. It's pretty much a bunch of youtube comments with better grammar.

In my opinion, you have changed a lot. You argue it's better and from some points it is, but I just adored the feeling of being somewhere with an excited Linus that just got a box of random crap to look at. You didn't care if there was a freaking plane going past and I liked that.

I started forming these opinions since you started hiring people and buying new gear. And then the livestream came. I adored it. it was you, just talking like back in the day. And I felt that everyone was happy. You got to make content you feel good about and I still got to see you without the "in front of a camera" hat.
Come on. what do you think I set an alarm clock to wake me up at 6 AM (!) on Saturday? What do you think was so awesome that I didn't mind it to wake up at 1 AM when you changed the time? Some stupid tech articles I can read whenever?
No. The only reason was feeling like you're on the other side of my table just talking. There were people in the chat saying they woke up at the same time as me and we all watched you talk about your motorbike gear...

You brought Slick in. I have to say, the show became a lot different, but it also started to be funnier.

And then all the WAN show BS started happening. And I was just angry. You brought unneeded professionalism into a show, where you used to talk to fans through Twitter (which is exactly the reason I made a twitter account - feels a bit useless now doesn't it?) about random thoughts.

But you, being a guy that always has a solution, started to do the Afterparty. And I felt like we were on a Teamspeak. I played a game and listened to you talking about something, randomly shouting that you forgot to say something on the main show...

I know that this was hard to read. But the last WAN show brought all of this back. And everything I missed for so long was back. Stupid jokes, puns, facepalms and you two talking about whatever. And it reminded about the reasons I had to wake up so soon on a weekend, to make an account, to sit for 2 hours on a chair.

P.S.: I thought that the stupidity and unprofessionalism I liked so much would be brought back with the Toys channel. Well, still waiting.

/EDIT: I loved the 230T video. Sure showed me that Linus still has jokes to make

i have 6 channels i sub to...of which one im subbed for a competition, NCIX i only really watch linus as the others annoy me, like nails down a chalk board, and the other is jayz vlog channel. i watch jayztwocents, baracalieeseseseeesess (cool channel fricking stupid name) and LTT of which LTT is my fave.  in fact JTT got me onto subing to channels from a quickie he did. i like his style sense of humour and professionalism......well sort of.....well it looks pretty.  shit changes thats life if you dont like dont watch it.....i loved COD.....it changed (or didnt) i dont play it know. the channel is great now though it could consider  catering a bit more to the global market with things like offers for the uk/europe and maybe not haveing the LAN show so late....ITS 1.30 IN THE FREAKING MORNING! other than that do what ever

I know this will draw hate as is common on criticism, keep in mind this is my opinion and I'm sure Linus will do fine when shifting his content on to a different demographic altogether. Afterall, smartphones and general consumer gadgets are popular watching and I'm sure many of Linus' new audience is here and ready to defend him. But this is constructive criticism, so I would appreciate the same gesture in return.

Having been watching LTT for a long time, it has gone increasingly downhill over a long period of time for me:

Linus prioritizing boutique video quality sacrificing all quantity and depth of insight. We're down to less than a video a day, and the ones we get are usually shorter and less opinionated/ insightful. Forgetting who the audience is with an increasing number of consumer gadgets, (seriously, a wi-fi plant humidifier??) mobile phones, and other borderline tech of fringe interest to PC enthusiasts, even further lowering the quantity of content desired. Getting on the same release bandwagon as all. the. other. tech. channels. Every video with a product I want to watch either doesn't exist at all or is covered by OC3D, Linus, TekSyndicate, TastyPC, SWEclockers and HardwareCanucks ALL AT ONCE. Random WAN show guests that I very often find to be irrelevant and annoying. Getting that weird uncomfortable YouTube "buddy club" vibe that just kind of smells bad to me. Josh from Fractal being an exception. Why go to PAX? There are hundreds of YouTube channels doing PAX. Just why? Where are all the hidden gems in PC hardware? Have Linus completely abandoned reaching out to manufacturers for samples of interesting new coolers, cases, NAS boxes, you name it? It just seems Linus is more interested in autonomy, getting all the same stuff as everyone else, and losing touch with the market. It used to be about consumer enlightenment, showcasing stuff you might not have heard of. Remember the Thermaltake Tt eSports BAG? That kind of thing. I bought one because of Linus. What has Linus shown me in the past 6 months that I wanted to buy afterwards? Absolutely nothing, I'm afraid.
But the final step that is probably going to make me unsubscribe, is not going to Computex. Seriously, that is gutting. That is a stone-cold knife in the back to the original audience of the channel, to whom Computex is probably the highlight of the entire year, after the huge thrill of covering it last year. I could forgive anything from Linus but not that.

It makes me sad, as Linus Tech Tips has been my very favourite channel for years, but now it is my least favourite of all my subscriptions.

    My 2 rubel, anyway.

IMO for products that are identical (reference video cards are another great example of this) you should buy based on support and relationship.

Finally after so many years of research we might be moving to a point of clean, safe and sustainable energy. Scientists at the National Ignition Facility(NIF) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory just announced that the reactor that was being used for the research of Hydrogen Fusion process finally produced more power than it took in. This means that the research might very well be a major step toward the availability of Fusion reactors that require very little fuel and gives a huge amount of energy. But now there is one obstacle and that being that the reactor in the facility would need to be able to sustain the enormous heat and pressure generated. The current facility may not be adequate as of now.

No!! ^^ This is not an egg !

Nuclear Fusion is the process by which 2 small atoms collide to form a bigger single atom. This requires a large amount of energy but also the yield is multiple times the input.
