It makes sense that they're going up because they're only getting older but it is surprising how high they are. You can try and score some deals on something like eBay or locally if someone is just trying to dump their system. Since you're using Citra, I assume you're cool with modding the system to sail the high seas and play games that way. In that case, you could look at sites like Sendico and buy a Japanese unit for, typically, way less. You can just mod it to take the region locking off and you've got a good deal.

I'd say wait man.  I know it will suck to put off the build but that's way too much money for the graphics card.  If you can wait for the market to calm down then wait.

I love my iPhone X and wouldn't go back to Android given the option.  I never had a samsung phone but like you around this time in ownership my phones would start to fail, especially in battery life or their charging port.  Something I haven't seen mentioned here is software updates.  That was something android always struggled with and, unless you want to go with a Pixel for somewhat extended support, Apple has had a wonderful track record of supporting their phones for years after release.  Another method of updating could be flashing custom roms to an android phone but I don't think that should really be counted.  That's a maybe that the community will support your phone for after your support is up with the manufacturer and the lack of os updates and security support shouldn't be excused just because there is the option for roms.  On top of that you may not want to install a rom and if that's not for you then your support will most likely not last more than two years on android.  One issue I did have was dust and a little bit of sand got stuck in my lightning port and ended up making it non operable even after cleaning.  I got it replaced for free from Apple because of apple care but if you don't go with apple care repairs can be costly.  Although that was my fault I should've been more diligent on cleaning.  A similar issue happened on my nexus 6p.  A rock didn't get stuck inside but dust did and no matter how much I clean it it still needs to be placed in very specific positions if it's going to take a charge.

Yea I'd probably grab a One Plus device and just flash lineage os to it without G-Apps.  You could also do this with a pixel device as they'll probably be supported by Lineage for a long time, although it would be ironic to daily a pixel without google apps.
I did this back in December with a nexus 6p and it isn't bad living without google apps.  It's actually quite liberating as you don't worry about lack of privacy with google and don't spend any time on youtube on the go, which was a huge problem for me.  Only downside is that most of the maps options out there aside from google or apple maps are terrible.  I would recommend using at least google maps because otherwise oof.

I'd go with the g3. It's screen isn't as nice in the color department compared to the one m8 but it's super sharp and great. Plus the M8's screen felt small to me. 5 inches is certainly big but there is so much around it that it just doesn't feel as big as it actually is. G3 is just a no compromise phone really. It's pretty solid in all departments. so ya I'd say G3

Use the Google Now launcher. That should solve your problem.

I was actually in the same situation but I just decided to wait for 9. 8 doesn't seem worth while enough to warrant an upgrade so if I were you I'd just wait it out and buy 9.

For me really the only platforms with worthwhile games in the console market.

1. Try to keep the drive level if possible.
2. You don't need to worry about extensively cooling the drive, temps are important for a hard drive though.  If it's in a computer with fans at all it should be fine, unless you're using the drive for a server or a nas then you may want to consider cooling.  
3. It shouldn't just as long as you aren't extensively rough with the drive, like don't drop it or drop things on it.  Just try to keep it safe during transit, if it is spinning then I wouldn't recommend moving it.
4. It shouldn't.
5. You really shouldn't need to worry about any of that.  If you clean your computer regularly then go ahead and dust off the hard drive, but if not don't worry about any of that.
6. Ya using the drive a lot will wear it out but really there isn't much to be done about that.  The drive will die when it dies.

With windows 8.1 it'll definitely work.  Ya you just need to download and install the correct drivers from I_Got_Lost's link and plug into your controller to the usb port on your computer.  Also there are wireless adapters you can buy for xbox controllers so you can use them all wireless and such.

I don't really use them or acknowledge them at all so to me they're rather pointless, but I'm sure if I actually looked into them and bothered with them they would have some use.

Also don't know why but the first thing I thought when I saw this was damn that's so fucking metal.

The HD 7770 is by no means a bad card in my opinion it's pretty decent and holds up in playing most games generally at decently high settings.
