oooookay! Results are in! All tests done in 4k!

2600k with HT vs 2600k w/o HT to simulate a 2500k.

Really surprising imho. Except when CPU is really needed like in PhysX tests,

the 4T Tests are almost all equal or better than 8T.

That makes it clear, i'll throw the 2500k in my HTPC and maybe even OC it a little,

as all these tests are done at stock

    wtf is going on there?

    sounds about right.

Well @Dackzy it's all 4k so cpu doesn't matter that much. But apparently it doesn't matter at all lol.

Sadly I don't have a Kay Lake here to test with but I don't think that it'd deliver much more performance.

its all a matter of "can these applications even make propper use of 8 threads"

At 4k you are more GPU bound than CPU, but if you test at 1080p the numbers should be in favor of the 8T

if the vareous tests can make propper use of 8 threads

Yeah ofc but i tried to test some known benchmarks aswell as games i'd play on my 4k TV so 1080p numbers don't matter to me at all.

And just so you know why all that:

Running OCCT when 2600k reaches 87°C after 2minutes with a fucking H100i gtx while 2500k chills at high 50s with some random aircooler.
