The fight for Net Neutrality is not over.  Please call your Congressmen and Senators, and ask them to propose a Resolution of Disapproval under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn yesterday's FCC decision.  The number for the US Capitol Switchboard in Washington, D.C. is (202) 224-3121.  Thanks!

ISPs have had the ability to expand their infrastructure for decades now.  The United States should have been investing tax money into this as well.  Decades ago, government funds were used to expand telephone lines throughout rural areas.  The same needs to be done now.  Priorities need to be re-calibrated.  So much has changed since then that it may be a while yet.

Michael McAllister got a reaction from SeanBro in microsoft office background task handler flash popup
Recently came across this issue after updating Office.  After doing some research, people have suggested disabling the Scheduled Task, but that doesn't explain why this task pops up or needs to run every hour for that matter.

As far as I can tell, this has been an issue since it was an Insider Build back in April.  I'm surprised this wasn't fixed by the time it reached the Slow Ring.  Isn't that the whole point of the Slow Ring?

Yes, it's tempting to leave your backup drive connected.  I know the feeling.  As was mentioned, a backup is only good if it is separated from the network completely.

    Easier:

Type Turn Windows features on or off into Search. Uncheck the box shown below, and restart the system when prompted for the settings to take effect.  All set!

Indeed, from what I gathered, the woman was turned away because she had videos of Muslim people praying in Arabic. I guess that's enough to be un-american these days, eh?

Oh god, the facebook comments on that article basically gave me cancer. So many people saying "SHE SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED!" and shit like that. And things like "Why would she go to America to shop for a toy?!??!?" Like these people have never heard of border shopping? It kind of happens every freaking day.

That is in no way related to this situation so I'm not sure why you would bring it up.  Of course, phrases like that would be of concern.  Harmless mosque pictures do not fall into that category.

There's one flaw with your argument.

The 14th Amendment to the US constitution grants protections to non-citizens.
    https://ricochet.com/archives/constitutional-rights-for-non-citizens/

Now, you only hold these protections and rights while within America and on American Soil. So no, American laws and the US Constitution doesn't apply to a German in Germany. But if that German is sitting on a bus in New York City, then yes, the Constitution does apply to him.

Keep in mind, many parts of the constitution specifically mention a citizen as part of the specific text or section. So one section might make a differentiation between Citizens and Residents, while another section applies to anyone, even if they aren't a Citizen.

The government has used that same rationale to erode the privacy of citizens for a long while.  The intrusive nature of surveillance programs hasn't resulted in a safer country.  Edward Snowden has talked extensively about this thinking, and it does not hold up under scrutiny.

That is incorrect.  Noncitizens do have rights under the 14th Amendment via the Equal Protection clause.

Even if I did agree with the immigration ban on the seven countries, it does not make much sense in terms of national security.  No terrorists originated from the listed countries.
