  1. Bought this BenQ EX2710 yesterday and it seems to have this very little splotch on it. It seems like it's inside my monitor, since physically cleaning the panel doesn't get rid of it. And I don't even know what it is. Missing pixel? Dead pixel? I got no clue. I've tried several things: cleaning the panel with a microfiber cloth, both with and without water using a different port & cable (HDMI and DP only) changing the monitor settings around (HDR, "Gaming" to "Cinema", etc.) using JScreenFix I figured I'd ask the internet before asking BestBuy (Geek Squad) or BenQ. Anyone know what this is, and how to fix it? EDIT: It was trapped dust inside the monitor. Sadly, I got a full refund since they were out of stock. Re-ordered it somewhere else.
  2. It'll be rare, but I can take a look. Thanks! Ahh yeah I figured. I don't really want to get anything older than a 7th gen either. You pretty much nailed it though haha. Thanks! Wow I didn't even think of cases that come with a PSU! Also, PCPartPicker says it might not be enough power, so I changed the case to this In Win case+PSU.
  3. I would love to go Ryzen, but it's pretty tough to find a Ryzen G chip for a reasonable price. Just the CPU alone would be around $270 CAD. At that point, I might as well get an i3-10100 + mobo.
  4. I would love to buy the x300, but the problem is finding a Ryzen 3200g/3400g at a reasonable price. Most I've come across from Kijiji, Ebay, Marketplace, etc. run me around $300 CAD. So in total, the x300+3200g would be around $600 CAD. So it's an option, but only if I can find a Ryzen chip for a decent price.
  5. I could get cheaper ram by like $20 at a cost of being at 2400 MHz, so that's possible. I don't think I can even get my hands on a cheap 11th gen CPU. They don't exactly need a GPU since all they do is mostly browse the web. And I could always just get a used GT 710 from Kijiji or Marketplace. Thanks!
  6. I thought the PSU was a decent deal. PCPartPicker shows me it's been as low as $160 this past year. The case may not have the greatest airflow, but I care more about it being SFF. Where I'm from, finding a used mobo and CPU is pretty rare. I've tried searching on Kijiji and Marketplace, but no luck so far.
  7. Budget: $650 CAD Country: Canada Usage: Social media, Youtube, Microsoft Word + bit of Excel, video streaming (Netflix & Amazon Video @1080p) Other details: Upgrading from a really slow $200 laptop. Specifically wants a SFF PC. Already have two 27' monitors, keyboard, and mouse. 1080p @60Hz is fine. But if it can run a larger resolution, the better. Here is a PCPartPicker list I quickly made. (case and PSU can be bought from a friend, hence why they are $170 combined) I also would like to get a WiFi dongle, but I don't know which ones are good. I'm wondering though: Should I even build this? Or just buy some SFF prebuilt from BestBuy or whatever and save around $200? Most prebuilts I've checked out have pretty old CPUs (not sure if I should get an older CPU since Windows 11 is coming), and the majority of prebuilts don't use M.2 NVMe SSD's. Thoughts? EDIT: Thank you everyone for the responses. If anyone else is in a similar situation, here is the final build I decided on. Specifically went with this motherboard because the two monitors they have are VGA and HDMI. Also bought a Bluetooth adapter for like $20. Total is around $620 CAD.
  8. Thank you everyone. I'll most likely be going with some 3600 RAM. Gonna wait for a solid sale
  9. Link to PCPartpicker list Just wondering if I should get high-speed RAM or stable RAM for my 10400F build (B560 allows RAM overclocking). I've looked at some reviews on it and looks like other people had to do some tuning to get it to be stable (no blue screens/crashes, etc.), which I don't mind doing. If it requires me to lower the speed for stability, I will. But if it needs to go below something like 4000, I might as well get some RAM rated at 3600. I just thought it would be a good idea to get the fastest RAM I could get since DDR5 is coming out in the next year or two. Has anyone tinkered with ram with this speed before? Any thoughts about it, especially with an Intel build?
  10. Here's the current PCpartpicker list ($1700 as of May 20) Budget: $2000 CAD Country: Canada (US if there's a really good deal) Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: Most intensive thing would be streaming/recording games like Apex Legends + Discord + Spotify + couple of tabs. Light audio and video editing/recording as well. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Currently have CPU, graphics card, and Windows 10. Still looking to buy everything else. No peripherals needed. Will be purchasing things whenever I see a decent price, but will be done by the end of 2021 at the latest. Play on 1920x1080 144 Hz on main monitor. Got a basic 1080p side monitor. No plans on upgrading resolution/refresh rate/etc or more monitors. If I need to turn settings down to very low for FPS, I will. I'm pretty satisfied with the build itself. Specifically looking at: Anything specific I can try to upgrade with the motherboard, RAM, SSD, whatever. Can be the smallest things, doesn't matter (like VRMs, RAM speeds, all that jazz) Not sure which case to get. I prefer function over form (dust filters & fans > RGB and glass) and smaller form factor. Got some room on the budget, so shoot some suggestions! I think the power supply is fine? Might have to look at the tier list again, but idk. Anything else I can try to improve on? Just looking to get some input from anyone. Thanks! EDIT: If someone finds this post and is curious, here's my final build. I gotta say, I got most of my parts on really good deals. Also sold my old PC for ~$600, so total net cost towards this build was ~$800. Huge deal on the CPU, but still wish I went Ryzen. Also bought a new monitor for $250 (BenQ Mobiuz EX2710) and sold my old 144Hz.
  11. Thinking of getting an IKBC F108 or a MasterKeys Pro S or L, but I wanna explore more options. I have my idea for the ideal keyboard: Linear or tactile switches only. Can't do clicky I already own a set of PBT keycaps. That being said, i'm only looking for boards with a standard bottom row I sometimes play games that use arrow keys, so no 60%'s Dedicated multimedia (volume) keys are preferred, but Fn keys are fine Re-mapping keys and creating macros is always a great addition. But if there's no software, there's no problem. A removable cable is great, but not required I don't plan on modding/custom building a keyboard I live in canada, so I might not be able to get my hands on some keyboards
  12. I have something similar (G403). Just not sure if any Logitech keyboards have this same feature :\
  13. I'm looking for a keyboard with on-board memory. I know Cooler Master already have some of their MasterKey keyboards with this feature. Does Logitech have this feature in one of their keyboards? If not, are there any other keyboards with this? Preferably can be bought in North America if possible.
  14. Is the G4560 a better deal than the A10? In terms of computing power, power efficiency, cooling?
  15. My dad found this desktop. It comes with Windows 10, but no SSD. It's $550 + tax at my local BestBuy. He and my mom just want a desktop to do simple tasks like using Excel, browsing Chrome, etc. I don't know if the AMD CPU is any good. And I want them to get a system with an SSD. Is this prebuilt any good? Or should I try to build something for them? If so, I need a parts list that includes Windows 10 and an SSD. I was thinking an i3 CPU, maybe a Pentium (if it's good enough?). CAD prices pls I already have a hard drive Don't need peripherals. Already have monitor, keyboard, and mouse
