  1. I think that's the larger models (60" +). Would a home theatre A/V receiver work with powered speakers if I plug them Into the RCA ports or am I going to blow up my speakers?
  2. I'm looking for a high quality product that will make my powered bookshelf speakers into the default audio device for my tv. If I can connect my speakers to something that connects to HDMI ARC or digital optical output I can set it to my default speakers. I watch most of my movies on it via PS3 because it has an analog output for sound via composite cables that can plug directly into my speakers. This setup is less than ideal as you would imagine, probably won't be long before sony removes support for ps store, netflix and amazon prime either. I've tried a cheap amazon "dac" product that connects to my tv's optical output but it's quality is very poor. Tons of low static noise and muffled sound overall. Tv: Panasonic gt50 50" - has HDMI ARC - has digital optical out Speakers: Audioengine 5+ powered bookshelf speakers - has RCA input - has 3.5mm input - does NOT have optical input like the newer 5+ Any help would be great, thanks!
  3. Wait for a deal and buy new. Until you find it for the price you want, download on the internal ssd. 661gb will keep you occupied until then.
  4. There's an app called "Should I Answer?" that screens calls and texts. It's... okay I guess, I still get some scam calls and texts now and then with the app. I'd like to know if anyone has a better app.
  5. I had the phishing attacks talk with her today when I wiped her phone. She doesn't remember anything like that happening, although she's 70 years old and doesn't have the best memory. I'm in the process of setting up her 2FA, any recommendations on a password manager?
  6. Must be, all she told me was that money was transferred to someone else's account and that she didn't recognize the name.
  7. I'm guessing it was a malicious text on her phone, I've already set that to factory default just in case, although she doesn't remember opening any text. The computer freezing twice on the sign in screen for her bank account is what puzzles me. it was an email money transfer.
  8. Thanks rickeo, I'll get it done. She did contact her bank, looks like everything is getting resolved on that end.
  9. I'll try to describe this the best I can given the quality of info I received. She apparently tried to access her bank account and then her computer froze. She then restarted her pc and tried again, same thing. She checked her bank account the next day and saw 1000 dollars was stolen from her account. I went over there and used Tron script to hopefully remove any viruses/trojans or whatever it was that enabled the breach... if there was one. Do you guys have any recommendations as to what else I should do, or tell her to do? Edit: If she was hacked or infected, are any other computers in her house infected? I'm not well versed in networking or internet security. Edit#2: She did call her bank and get the money sorted out. Edit#3: She gave me a more detailed account of what happened, I guess I wasn't asking her the right questions. - She signed on to her bank account, clicked on "my accounts" then chose an account, after which the mouse stopped responding and the screen went black. - This happened again after rebooting her computer. - She used Skype for video chatting with my brother without it crashing, as well as shopping on amazon without issue.
  10. thanks Glenwing! Time to upgrade.
  11. No worries, thanks anyway!
  12. Yeah I've checked that menu, it shows 120hz after I set the custom resolution in nvidia control panel but I cant get 144hz or 165hz to save in custom settings so they wont even show in that menu or nvidia control panel. EDIT: I'm using display port cable.
  13. Doesn't show those refresh rates.
  14. Do you mean display adapter settings when you right click on the desktop? If so, then yes.
