TheBean got a reaction from LAwLz in New Bluetooth version on Windows
wait hold on a second.... I just bought an intel ax210 wifi module today which says its 5.2 on the spec sheet yet I also have lmp 12 now. so now i dont know if its just that the ax210 supports 5.3 but it doesnt say, or lmp 12 is still 5.2

Edit: I did some more digging and this is what I found on the bluetooth specifications website:
    https://btprodspecificationrefs.blob.core.windows.net/assigned-numbers/Assigned Number Types/Host Controller Interface.pdf
in addition of the LMP, theres also the HCI version specified. '

I have HCI 12.13444 / LMP 12.13444 and according to this document, that means 5.3

so maybe it really is 5.3

TheBean reacted to GoodBytes in Popular Windows tweak/privacy/debloat tool turned out to be a trojan.
Delivered via GitHub, the popular Windows tweak tool who promises to offer privacy, debloat the system, and offer system tweaks, including adding Google Play Store to Android turned out to be Trojan.

Named, Windows Toolbox, and now removed from GitHub, it has been found to deliver more than expected on users PC. It add malware to the system.

    bleepingcomputer.com reports:

In summary, the way it worked is by taking advantage of Cloudflare special header support to get scripts which the author distributes and acquired by the script all obfuscated on the source code so the none keen eye, who doesn't have a complete understanding in the various languages used in this project, can quickly detect something is not right. The effect is not right away visible to the user. It leverages Windows Task Schedule to execute admin level script to do its work in doing its damage later on.

The following Task Schedule items were found to be part of this trojan:

It also creates a hidden folder 'systemfile' under C:\ partition. And reroute Chrome, Edge and Brave web browser user profile there.
It also inject malicious Google Chrome / Chromium extensions to these web browsers. In addition, it reroute web traffic to variety of malicious sites.

    GitHub has removed the project.

    Source:
    https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/windows-11-tool-to-add-google-play-secretly-installed-malware/

This highlights that you can't just blinding run script or programs online, even if they are open source unless you personally vetted the source code properly, and you fully understand what the program or script will do.

There is also a lot of miss information and myth going on about "debloating" and "privacy" from tools.
Not going in specifics, but "debloating" doesn't gain anything beside saving a few MBs of space from your drive out of your TB drive, or whatever drive capacity that you have plenty of, unless you screwed up and not got the right drive for your needs, or your budget limited you to a drive capacity that is barely enough and you need every single MB you can. And many times, scripts or programs just removes or encourages you to remove all in some ways, and that breaks ones OS experience. For example, removes the Store, ignoring the fact that some components of the OS and add-ons like video codecs, are being distributed via the Store, and some can be pre-requisites sometimes for OS update to install properly.

You want to save space? No problem! Just carefully know what you'll be removing and what impact, if any, it may entail.

Many freak out from Microsoft telemetry data, with many have wrong assumptions as they are reading click-bait articles instead of the source: Microsoft Windows Privacy Policy, which includes all included OS apps like Edge, OneDrive and the Store, and features like "find my pc". That said, I understand people wanting to turn it off, and I am all for options.

That said, many of these scripts I found over the years only set a registry value to 0 for a flag in the registry, thinking it means "disabled", as "0" tend to mean "off/disabled" in there, but that is wrong. There is no "off", 0 is a level of collection of telemetry which only works on Enterprise editions of Windows connected on a domain, if you put 0 on an unsupported edition of Windows, or Enterprise, but not domain join, then it will assume 1 in reality. As you can read here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/privacy/configure-windows-diagnostic-data-in-your-organization. And this is problem, as it gives the illusion of privacy gain, but in reality, it is not the case. And that is the problem I want to highlight.

Many of these tools and scripts, maybe even from known companies (I didn't test them to confirm, not saying that they aren't working), typically are not carefully vetted features that has been validated. They just collect stuff they find online and put a nice GUI on it and call it a day. Or some of the features used to work for Windows 10 early days, and assume to continue to work today. That is my point.

Even open source projects I seen, none have validation tests in them to confirm things are working or not. Just does stuff to the system, and hope what they found online is correct today, if ever.

Point is, best to do it all yourself and read documentation before doing things in the registry.

well if range is a concern, wifi 6 is going to be worse than 5 anyway. newer wifi versions use higher frequencies which have lower range. and you dont really need blazing fast internet on your phone anyway. so wifi 5 will be perfect. I dont know which ones are good at that price range so im not sure how I can help.

It's most likely done at the hardware level and not through software. You could try going in the BIOS and seeing if it does something there.

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?
    None

    What happened?
I opened the forum site and the font appeared as Comic Sans.

What did you expect to happen?
For it to appear as the standard forum font, or at least the normal browser font.

Link to a page where it happened, if applicable:
    N/A
Screenshots of the issue, if applicable:
    Any other relevant details:
I checked my browser settings, it is set to Times New Roman. I looked at the Page Source code, and right at the beginning it says:
<style> @import url('https://fonts.cdnfonts.com/css/comic-sans'); *:not(i) { font-family: 'Comic Sans', sans-serif !important; } </style> Right under the <head> tag of the site. Would this be a problem on my end, or a site issue?

Edit: When I tried to post this the first time, it posted, but it showed me a error page, and going back to the post editor, it said that posting is limited within a time frame or something like that (mentioned something about 10 sec).

well considering you need to use the adobe suite, intel is probably better.
since you need a bunch of projectors, getting those super cheap GPUs is a good option. (many people will get something like the gt 730 for display outputs)
since those workloads are pretty intensive, you'll want *at least* 12600k cpu, at least rtx2060 level of gpu.
    at least 32gb ram

edit: having multiple display outs but also being itx build gets really hard to do. cant have small and lots of ports for display.
might want to consider maybe thunderbolt ports for display outs or something.

Windows 10 1511 has already reached end of life. You'll need to do a fresh install at this point. But considering you're using a cracked copy of Windows, you're SOL. Man that Cortana prompt brings me back.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/announcements/windows-10-1511-end-of-servicing

And since this would fall under circumventing anti-piracy measures and cracking, this is as far as we can go here.

why would you pirate windows 10? you can get an official copy for free. and there are.... ways... to remove the watermark if you just dont activate it. you could also just buy an OEM key which is like $20usd

    imma be honest.. youtube

its free, has thousands of videos (good and bad) so there is endless content for you. you could also start going through certifications training videos since certifications are sometimes better than university classes

Edit: i think it was the comtia a+ cert. its literally useless. go for more specialist certs as they are more useful and teach you things you probably wont learn in college. they do get expensive very quickly tho (tests are usually in the 700-2000usd range) but training is much cheaper/free

As a member of the >6k posts club I press Y to disagree with this statement
Whether I should be in the >6k posts club is a good question, and the answer is probably most likely definitely no.
My viewpoint on it now is it's just a statistic that no one has to care about. I personally don't like the Community Answers value as it depends on other people marking your answer as the solution - I'd say that 2/3 to 3/4 of the topics I've answered the OP didn't mark my question as the solution.
Do I care? No. Their problem was solved and that's what matters. Not numbers that go up based on what you do here (like rep count), the questions you answer, the discussions you have, the friends you make, and the really funny topics you archive whenever you need a good laugh.

that was not really my objective.

the reason I brought it up was basically why have it in the first place if half of the ranks have the same percentile? it only differentiates people in the lower half of the ranks. I did not want to add it because of elitism, it just doesn't feel useful once you reach enthusiast

I dont know how well my point comes across because im bad at explaining things

I think it should either be more precise/accurate (because its current state doesnt work well to account for such large number of users)
    or
remove it entirely because we dont actually need it in the 1st place

as far as I know, the percentile each profile shows does not get more accurate than 1%. and as far as I can tell, everyone in enthusiast or above is already top 1%. so, once people reach top 1, can it slowly go into things like top 0.5, top 0.1, top 0.01 etc?

Edit: once the persons rank is <1000 (they are in the top 1000 users) would you switch to just saying top xxxx? can we also know how many users are on the forum (with at least 2 posts to prevent counting fake accounts?)
