  1. Don't get that really expensive ram. Also get a batter gpu. For you, something like the 770 would work great. And I know this is just my opinion, but that case is old, and pretty clunky, I would recommend finding a newer case. I really like corsair.
  2. I'm planning a new rig, and it crossed my mind that a Xeon might be a ok choice. I know they cant OC, but other then that, how different would they be from a normal i7? Thanks!
  3. Oh wow! I didnt notice that untill now. Thanks!
  4. Do you have experience with it? I think it looks pretty nice.
  5. OK thanks. I have used 1200 in the past, its alright, but I prefer 1080p for a few reasons, one of them being streaming.
  6. Hello, I will be upgrading my monitor soon, and not sure which monitor to get. All I want is 1080p and a decent size (around 24 inches or so is fine). One last question, I only play team fortress 2 but I play competitively (on a team) and was wondering if a 120hz monitor would make a difference. If you havent played it, its an fps, but its not the same millisecond-makes-the-game kind of stuff you'l see in counter strike. EDIT: Sorry, I forgot, my budget is under $180. Thanks so much!
  7. Hello everyone! I havent played minecraft seriosly in forever because playing comp. Tf2 has taken most of my time. But now I have more time, id like to do what I used to do, ne a server plugin manager. I have run a server before and been a servers plugin guy. Id like to help someone out with this, although I might be a little rusty =P. If you need a server nerd, hit me up! Thanks!
  8. Hello everyone! I recently got a rig, basically for free. Its got an i7 950, 6gb ddr3 ram, a 1tb hdd and a gt 430. Its definitely a decent computer, the gt 430 is REALLY good, it can even play bf4 at low settings! So, here are my options: 1, upgrade this current machine. This means putting 8/16gb ram, a ssd, a new psu and a new gpu. Together, this would cost somewhere around $500. Option 2: I could build an entirely new pc. This would cost about $1300, but have newer and maybe a little better parts. I am a competitive tf2 player, which means the only game I really play is tf2, a pretty easy game to run. The gt 430 runs it fine. The only intensive thing I need to do is record and do some streaming. So, which one should go with? Thanks! EDIT: Also, I forgot to mention that the pc already has a closed loop water cooler. So I can do some ocing.
  9. Like I said, not doing much intense gaming, I dont need a 780 ti. And I dont need a hdd.
  10. Hello everyone! If you have seen some of my resent posts, you will know I am planning a new build. I will be gaming ( Mainly CS:GO, not anything more than that, possibly a little minecraft) and streaming (CS:GO). Il be doing a lot of streaming, but only with cs go. I already have a hdd, all I need is a ssd, I also have os, monitor and keyboard taken care of. Here is what I think It will look something like: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/playerjoe/saved/2ujT
  11. Thanks, thats pretty similar to the 1150 one I made.
  12. Yes, I am still considering my options, so im still weighing everything out.
  13. Oh yes sorry, budget around 1600 without os, monitor or keyboard/mouse.
  14. Hello everyone! I am planning a new build. I am thinking of possibly going 2011, and in which case I wouldent have a ton of extra money for the gpu. Reasons I might go 2011: A LOT of streaming, video editing, software development and long lastingness. The game I would be streaming is CS GO. Thats really the only game I play (sometimes I might pick up minecraft or something like that) I wont even need to run that game on max settings, because of my such skill, much tweaking status. I am just asking how the 650ti is for basic games, and some video editing. Thanks! EDIT: Budget around $1600 without os, monitor or peripherals.
