  1. I assume you have tried restarting the PC? If that didn't work, has the computer recently updated? Potentially try resetting windows or reverting to a prior windows save. That could help if it is only a recent issue. Could also be something corrupt on your C drive perhaps? But that should be less likely I would think
  2. Hold off as long as you can in my opinion. No harm in waiting to give Microsoft as much time as possible to iron out any other issues at present. especially if Windows 10 is still fine for you. Otherwise you could always upgrade and use your windows update backup to revert if it doesn't work for you. Realistically there shouldn't be a huge difference if you do or don't for general use cases. But see some other opinions first. I have gone to Windows 11 on my windows laptop and Intel desktop but not on my AMD desktop yet for the same reasons you listed. I'm interested to see other responses and opinions.
  3. This may seem like a bit of a silly question and I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong section. I have a specific problem in my head that I am not sure how to resolve easily. I have a MacBook Pro 2021 and a custom desktop PC that I want to share the peripherals between over USB-C (for minimal cables). My monitor is the Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo and ideally the connections from both inputs could use DisplayPort as the monitor doesn't have USB-C. I was looking at KVM switches initially but there don't seem to be any that work from type-c to DP in the method that I am thinking of. Now this is likely terrible but I was looking at using the ATEN US3342 2-Port USB-C Gen 2 Sharing Switch as the connection between the two inputs and then putting it into something like Wavlink Universal USB-C/USB 3.0 Ultra 5K Laptop Docking Station so that my keyboard, mouse and other general peripherals could be connected to either machine and the monitor. Now knowing myself I have severely overthought this, missed something crucial and ended up making the worst possible solution to this problem. Does anyone know whether the above would work or if there is a more simpler solution at all? Ideally I'm not wanting to spend too much money but I do want it all to work together seamlessly (and neatly) so I can go from my PC to the laptop without any issue. If you need any other specs or additional information if I explained this badly I will try and assist on that too. I appreciate any help with this as well.
  4. Looks pretty good overall. You could try for a AIO cooler if you prefer that route otherwise it looks like you have all the options covered. As long as you have all your storage devices and Windows license as well. Solid build
  5. One of my friends computers was able to boot into windows earlier in the day, before running into continuous crashes, resets and blue screens. After trying to turn the machine back on numerous times and loading into the recovery options, he tried to do each and every one of the advanced options in order to try and be able to get back into windows. All drives and devices are viewable in the BIOS and I can't think of anything else to suggest. I don't believe any parts are dead although the system is very old. He wrote his own recount as well "It started when I switched to hdmi since my dvi connection stopped working. After the switch, blue screens (code shown in pictures) were very frequent, happening within 5 minutes of a successful boot up. After numerous restarts at some point the monitor stopped recognising the hdmi connection. I unplugged my gpu and tried a dvi connection directly into the motherboard which worked but the computer wasn't booting up at this point, it would blue screen instead of loading windows." System Specs are: i3 2120 (He isn't exactly sure and can't see in windows to check. He reckons 2nd gen 100%) Asus Strix 960 4GB Asus P8H61-M LE Motherboard Corsair CX750w 8GB 2133 DDR3 RAM Intel Stock Cooler Samsung 750 Evo SSD 250GB Generic 300GB HDD -- Windows 10 64bit Any help is greatly appreciated. He doesn't know what else to do and I don't know what else I can do with the quarantine going on at the moment. Would be easier if I could see it in person.
  6. Looks like something has burnt away at the top there like you showed in the pictures. Not quite sure what part of the PCB that is, however all PCB's are made with hundreds of pathways and connections between all the different components attached into them. If that one has burnt out as seen above, it may be stopping the board from doing its intended function as it can no longer transmit power, data or so forth throughout the card. You might be able to clean that spot up a bit with some rubbing alcohol and see if it looks ok underneath? Could just be a badly connected solder joint too. Otherwise If you really can't get any signal out of the card at all I would say you would have to assume it is dead.
  7. Has windows recently updated at all or can you revert to a previous save to see if that changes anything?
  8. In what way is the computer lagging? Mouse input or everything just feels slow?
  9. Well hopefully that fully fixes everything knowing that
  10. Seems really basic and like quite a dumb question but have you tried restarting your computer? You could also revert to older versions of drivers where you had no issues and see if that fixes anything too.
  11. I currently have 16GB of DDR4 installed in my PC (2x8GB) and I want to add some more RAM so it can handle more. I'm looking at buying a new kit that would be 32GB (2x16GB). Both kits would be 3200mhz so the speeds are the same. Only thing I want to know is can I use both kits at the same time so the motherboard would be running 2x8GB and 2x16GB at the same time? I would ensure that the speeds and brands are the same. I know neither are important necessarily just better to match. Thanks (Sorry if this is worded badly. Made sense in my head...)
  12. If someone has already bought one of the laptops try and see their feedback and reviews and see if there is any negativity... If you don't mind loosing $30 you could always risk it. You might come out of it with a steal! Play it how you see safe as it is your money although from my experience I would say it is unfortunately a scam most likely or at least a legit laptop with some fatal problem.
  13. Hey, Your build looks pretty good and in regards to RAM the maximum supported speed should be the max speed supported by the motherboard. I have 16GB of 3200MHz in my system with no problems with the 6700K. Even though I have a 'K' CPU it shouldn't make a real difference as the 'K' just means it can overclock not difference in much else really (Aside from boost speed). The corsair vengeance kits are brilliant and you should have no problems with those. Please let me know if this helped.
  14. What motherboard do you have? Because some boards can't connect fans with RGB capabilites.
  15. I don't see why that's true. Samsung has had water proof and water resistant phones for much longer than Apple and they have never removed the headphone port.
