  1. Buying new cables today. It's only when its under load. It happens during gpu benchmarks
  2. I think I know its a gpu issue. Ryzen 3 2200G EVGA GTX 980 When gaming, my screen goes black mid game and my computer lights, fans, gpu fans are still spinning but no display. I've tried HDMI and DisplayPort it happens on both. I already know one of my DisplayPort is broken because it will not work at all. It just happened two times today. Maybe I will run some benchmarks maybe its the load/heat/voltage. Does anyone has any other ideas what it could be?
  3. Are you confused on which instance type to use or how to set it up?
  4. Agreed, F@H is a great way to help. I lost my grandfather to Alzheimer. I have family members that fought against Breast Cancer and Leukemia
  5. Easier way to do it is create a snapshot of your instance and then create an ami. Then create a template for your instances with that ami. It will boot up with everything configured already.
  6. I've used AWS for folding and boinc before... the only thing you need to consider is your bill goes up fast. I wouldn't recommend it honestly. You can also look into doing P100 instances for 0.25/hr on Azure. It pulls about 1.4m to 1.6m. If you can, I would just get a gpu and run it from home. It's a better investment in the long run. Regarding the AMI, I would use the Nvidia Deep Learning AMI. Easier to setup because you don't have to deal with drivers. https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/NVIDIA-NVIDIA-Deep-Learning-AMI/B076K31M1S Also consult this guide on setting it up:
  7. Thank you to everyone that participated in this fun event. We got from 10th to 6th! It was my 1st time using BOINC and participating in a BOINC event. It was definitely challenging trying to make sure all my servers are on the right project. It definitely did some damage on my wallet but it was for a good cause. Hopefully next year will go smoother and run more efficiently.
  8. Had to dig through the F@H Thread to find it in the blogs.
