  1. Thank you for the update. I will indeed try this when the opportunity arrises.
  2. Wow this is amazing!. i really love this event. Officially it is my 5th event. Unofficially it is my 6th. I must admit i have thought about getting a UDM pro for years. But never bought one. now i just need to buy some APs. Thank you everyone for participation in the event. It was truly amazing. I already have bigger plans for next year. However, i will be switching my forum name to match my folding name. I just did not want to do so in the middle of the event, as we saw what kind of trouble that created for the team collecting points.
  3. Nice to be part of the event again this year. I see my new badge! Love it
  4. Thank you. I did not realise you had a table for that. But the thing is that the table only considers TDP and not card draw. My 4090 has a tdp of 450w, but on,y draws 300w while folding, with stock settings. It would be nice to have a column for typical folding power draw for each model. But i know that is not easy to collect data on.
  5. Still a bad buy when you consider the ppd/W ? even taking the price of puchase, the effeciency should make up for it quite quickly i think. I have not done the math though.
  6. I was just getting used to getting a mention. #24 is not bad. Hope to keep it.
  7. My linux machine decided to update nvidia driver during the night. From 535.113 to 535.119 that made the folding fail. its been idle for 4 hours. So todays production will suck. i hope it will not happen anymore.
  8. Not nice. I have been following you since you steamed past me on rank 800.
  9. 2018 was the first year right? The first one i missed the sign-up deadline. But folded the whole event anyway.
  10. Thank you for the mention. Finaly got linux up and running on the 4090. Seems to average pretty good.
  11. I will be happy to participate once again. maybe it is time to make a system upgrade. Maybe just temporary.
  12. Edited, didn't read the topic right the first time.
  13. It does not seem like i can get a single WU to not crash. Already tried 5 or 6, all of them giving errors before reaching 5% done. Might be my system, But I have no problems in other applications. Will try to figure it out, Otherwise i will have to skip this year.
  14. I really want to join this year too, Will be my fourth year in a row, 5 if i count 2018 where I entered too late to get the badge, but participated anyway. However I don't know if i can fulfill the requirements due to very high electricity costs in Europe this winter. But I will see if I can get something up and running, and really hope to complete this event too.
  15. Signed up! Don't know how much i can participate though, since the energy prices is soaring in EU at this time. We are currently seeing 3-4x electricity prices, so i have to keep an eye on the consumption.
  16. How are you transfering the files? From a pc using shares on each box? Or pushing/pulling directly from the boxes? If you are using windows to copy the data, that will most likely, first transfer the data from the first nas to the pc, and then transfer it back to the new nas. Thus causing double transfers on the network. It should be possible to set up the synology to trnasfer the data directly from one box to the other, without a pc.
  17. I have been running both systems headless for 4 years. So yes they can. I would like to use the pcie lanes for other things than a gpu, and waste power on that.
  18. I have been having a problem with two of my systems. Both systems are running unraid, and similar specs. But since this seems to be a boot issue, I think we can rule unraid out of this. Both systems don't need a GPU, so I want them to run headless, which is working fine without other aic. But if I add a PCI-e device, the systems won't boot. I have tried an Adaptec HBA, and two network cards (intel and Mellanox) but every time the debug LED lights up b2 (which is missing from the manual of the motherboard), and searching the internet I find it means that the system is having trouble initializing the GPU. This makes no sense since I know it can boot without any GPU installed (also no other PCI-e devices) but as soon as I add other PCI-e devices it won't boot. Both systems will boot with both the aic and a GPU. System 1: Asrock X99M Extreme4 Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 4x4GB crucial 2133MT/s System 2: Asrock X99 Extreme4 Intel Xeon E5-2680v4 4x16GB Corsair 3200MT/s
  19. Not more than normal i guess. And if there were, they would not be buying 8-18TB NAS HDDs
  20. SI've just crossed 350 plots (35TB), and started about 3rd of May. I have already got 4 XCH, i guess my luck is high. My estimate to win 1 chia has never been below 5 months, and i got my first 2 XCH, three weeks into it, and the next 2 XCH, two weeks after those. Currently my est. is 4 months. I've invested in 8x8TB WD red plus, and 24x used intel DC 480GB S3500/S3510 SSDs. In total (including local tax, and converted to USD) about $2500USD + $1000USD respectively. In my area the HDDs are all sold out everywhere, and most have risen much in price. But i got the disks at their normal price level.
  21. I am trying it out. Not too far yet. also only threw a couple of old external drives at it, and a couple intel SSDs as temp. Have anyone seen a 'benchmark' for plotting chia? What matters the most? CPU cores/frequency, memory frequency, etc ? Same about farming chia? or is it preferred to have high frequency for farming chia?
  22. Wait, why did the event end early? When i signed up, i remember the end date was 22 NOV. Is my memory wrong or has the dates been changed?
  23. This lockup will definitely hurt my placement in this event. About 27 hours outage, because the pc locked up. and i was not home.
