I'd imagine any sticky would be owned by the moderators. The way open source works...We argue like h*ll until we come to a general consensus. (sign up for ANY open source mailing list. We go back and forth on issues all day.) If we both disagree with each other then the answer is more than likely somewhere in the middle.

I'd like to see the LTT guide pointing to the distributions guide(they are open source and under constant development no need to keep updating here unless a broken link occurs). The developers have spent hundreds if not thousands of hours documenting their software. I do not see a need to replicate that effort here. @Bigun I like the matrix idea. @bob51zhang I still feel it would benefit to the admin, moderators, forum owner, and users if a generic "We are not liable for your actions" was added to the Code of Conduct for the forum. Do you believe quantum computing would invalidate the benefits of compilations greater one-to-one correspondence. since in it's very nature true quantum is one-to-infinite. So wouldn't a step-by-step process flow be more beneficial since the solution would be found on the first evaluation regardless of the possibilities? another analogy. I feel like in a true non pseudo quantum computer running interpreted code would be like throwing a dart blind folded and always hitting your target where running through a compiler would require you to grab the dart and then throw the dart always hitting your target. So wouldn't compilers be invalidated since they simply create an additional step in a quantum setup? Please expand on why that makes no sense. Keep in mind quantum computers don't truly exist yet so this is all theoretical. I'd like to hear your view on this though. Have I misunderstood something along the way?

On a quantum computer would an interpreted language be faster than a compiled language? I feel like an interpreted language would be able to make more use of the quantum computer. My assumptive theoretical reasoning explained in an analogy: I feel the compiled language would be like a car that can only drive on a road where an interpreted language would act as a drone and be able to fly over the roads, fields, or trees. What do you think?

Just being blunt with my views. Sorry if anyone is offended. Unfortunately, this is a forum that attempts to perform the role of an IRC channel rather than sticking to the traditional purpose of archiving answers to questions so people don't have to repeat their response(that's why "software/hardware forums" exist). Remember most people asking questions are curious and want to learn...spoon feeding answers does not help them in the long run. Critical thinking is a skill and we should attempt to encourage it. But I agree this forum is designed to be an "Open Forum", though I personally feel it would be of more benefit to the users if it were used as a tech tips forum. Somebody linked one of these in a thread a few weeks ago, though it was completely ignored. Might have been yours. It seemed to be a constructive discussion and much more informative than. "Go with Ubuntu" or "Try installing arch" and the much more irresponsible and potentially criminal advice of "install Kali" or "look into BlackArch". But it is useless when the people asking aren't willing to read about what they are attempting to do. for the TLDRs out there. 1. These posts are rarely unique or previously unanswered. 2. Could lead to legal issues. 3. Specific problems should be addressed in the appropriate forums, IRCs, Mailing Lists, etc.. 4. OP @Bigun ban is too much, but I can see a reason to auto lock and point to the sticky, unless overridden by moderator. 5. Bad web etiquette is contagious and spreading it to the youth/new community members will only lead all forums into a abysmal state of misinformation. Suggested Solutions: It would be of benefit to the forum to implement a bot that auto locks and posts a pointer to the appropriate open stickied thread, this could of course be overridden by proper moderators who believe the question has some form of originality that could not be answered with a general explanation. (not to mention (oh wait I'll mention it!) expand the forum policy to enforce at least the basics of generally accepted forum etiquette...you're teaching new members how not to seek advice on forums, and is f'ing with a lot of once great forums. Look into "contributing to the delinquency of a minor". I've never tried OS X+SDK on a vm, but you should be able to create one that could run the app on any device. might require an OS X license < a vm is not a hackintosh

To the best of my knowledge no. In fact many unRAID developers suggest running with 4gbs. If all the ram is passing legitimate hardware tests I'd start with looking into hardware compatability. Arch's documentation and package managment are "straightforward and simple" compared to Gentoo's. They are both higher level Linux distros (minimalistic), but for this question I'd honestly push the other way Gentoo is slightly more difficult than Arch.

I get the same error for the package. xfce4-mixer is only available up to the wily repos. It is unavailable on xenial and yakkety repos. Sorry about that. When installing xfce4 on xenial, pavucontrol which is a volume mixer was installed, so default on ubuntu for xfce4 would be pavucontrol when xfce4-mixer is unavailable. sorry about that. Updating suggestion to reflect this. pavucontrol is available on all mirrors so I will exclude xfce4-mixer from the suggestion.
