  1. This more of an asking price vs received goods problem rather than SATA vs NVMe for OS and gaming really. at 1500 USD, it is pretty easy to just somehow slots NVMe SSD there, just little bit more than SATA for the same capacity. That's why Linus is leaning hard on why it isn't NVMe, because it is expected given the provided budget.
  2. really has to be android tho? non-touch operation is painful. if you insist.... you can use the (now deprecated) Remix OS. Idk about the newer versions of android tho...
  3. I don't know if this would work on AMD CPU or not, but I've been using TLP to underclock my i5-3320M cpu. you can set the maximum and minimum cpu clock at both on battery or plugged in. more info here : https://linrunner.de/en/tlp/tlp.html
  4. Idk about this issue and for whatever reasons I got the gut feeling to change to Firefox lol. Been on Firefox for a month and migrated all my data and extensions over here. It's been better for all intent and purpose than chrome for me (nicer text rendering, some sites that able to detect adblocker on chrome can't detect adblocker on Firefox, less RAM usage).
  5. Don't be overwhelmed, especially the file system. for beginner, just focus on the HOME directory first, all you need (except when installing packages, even then you'll usually only reserved on using 'sudo' and command) is inside the HOME directory in terminal it's usually marked as tilde '~'. or 'Home' in file explorer. Try to get familiar with the terminal, it's your best friends when you need troubleshooting, etc, but using GUI is not a bad thing either.
  6. Tbh google certainly wants to, but there is no legal footing to takedown those "copycat" games. Any form of character design, as long as it still different one way or another ( even just as simple as change character color + some changing in physical feature i.e. horn ) would already considered an original art.
  7. Pop_OS with GNOME3 (don't judge me, I love it), so far it's plug and play, stable, runs well, and Pop_OS has better battery management out-of-the-box (though in the end I still tweak the fan curve and CPU freq table for better battery life). Still hoping GTK has a GUI for screen color adjustment.
  8. I know it's very late but probably windows boot loader got corrupted(sadly pretty easy to do in Windows for whatever reason), make windows installation in a flash drive then boot from it, then choose repair instead of install, then find the troubleshoot, you should see boot repair section. it should rebuild the boot manager partition.
  9. I look for your particular model disassembly and I see the cooling solution is particularly bad. I own ThinkPad x230 with i5-3320M (2 core 4 thread) and it has 2 heat-pipe along with the fan, and while it's not particularly hot, peaks at 75 C. Looking at your laptop which has 4 cores and less efficient manufacturing (2nd gen vs 3rd gen), it's basically a given that this laptop runs hot. the solution I could suggest would be limiting the CPU max Frequency and/or disabling turbo boost (just re-enable HT, AFAIK it's not that much affect temperature vs clock speed). You can do rough underclock in windows power setting (under advance > look for max CPU performance) and disable / shorten Turbo Boost via intel XTU. Undervolt at this generation (2nd and 3rd mobile) is unfortunately impossible AFAIK.
  10. I wish that Windows add support for Ext File System. It's pain in the a$$ when I need to access local files from my Linux Laptop on Windows.
  11. is DVD-RAM count? it's beaten by its own siblings (DVD-R, DVD+R, etc..)
