download an app called DDU, then launch it in safe mode, which means you should type msconfig then go to boot and check the box saying safe boot, and then ill ask if you want to restart, you can restart but make sure you have your 4070 graphics driver downloaded from geforce.com/drivers first and store it somewhere you know. once you restart and are in safe mode, open DDU and choose GPU and NVIDIA and click on clean and restart, but before you do that you should disable safe boot first so it doesnt reboot into safe mode again so youll go to msconfig again and then boot and uncheck the box saying safeboot, but this time click on exit without restart. and then you can click on clean and restart. once it restarts install the 4070 driver you downloaded from the nvidia website and you should be good

it would probably be worth the 10-20 minutes to at least try to get some tweezers and patience and try to bend it all back into place, if that doesn't work just buy a usb hub

Tenadisic got a reaction from Crunchy Dragon in EVGA GTX 780 ACX Failure after Driver Update
you used ddu right?

The MOSFETs and VRMs for the CPU don't technically need cooling, my board does fine without them. They're obviously better if you're going to be performance overclocking and need reliability(I was stable at 4.4Ghz on my A6-5400K)

Tenadisic reacted to johnukguy in CPU upgrade?
You will need a new board and RAM for an R5 1600 and RAM prices won't fall until towards the end of next year. The good news though is that, if you are in the US, near a Staples, you can buy a Ryzen 7 1700X right now for $209, or, Frys are doing a Black Friday deal for a Ryzen 1600 with a B350 motherboard for $189, which is less than some paid for the CPU alone just yesterday. Either CPU will be a significant upgrade in terms of all around performance.

go with the 1600 if you are overclocking and 1600x if you are not

the halflife games are pretty cheap and not very hardware intensive

Tenadisic reacted to Aleks NE in Bottleneck?
I think your I5 would be ok, check you CPU usage when playing a game maxed out right now, and if its over than lets say 90 than it might bottleneck a bit.
