I'd see if you can get the collar on any tighter, but assuming it's as tight as you can get without resorting to vice grips/pliers, yeah, it's installed correctly.

loony979 reacted to Shimejii in A full refrigerant cooling loop?
Can it work? kind of. Very dumb idea to do in the long run, not very efficient, and will cause FAR more issues then it solves. 360mm AIO gets most of the job done with most CPUs, and with a bit of tuning is more then enough. You can do Custom cooling with Dual 360 if you really need it but otherwise there is diminishing returns for it.

IF it ever leaked you would have a nightmare cleaning it up and plugging it until it got fixed. Would never recommend doing this since it generally costs more then just doing a custom loop.

Reservoirs are not necessary, but it can make it easier to fill the loop. I put a 3 way connector and valve near the pump intake, and connect temporary tubing to fill the loop.
This is so true for me and first time I ever seen someone even mentions this.

loony979 reacted to Sir Beregond in Can one 360 radiator cool both my cpu and gpu?
12900kf and a 3080 Ti? I wouldn't put that on a single 360 rad, I'd want at least two personally. Radiators are where the heat is dissipated so the more the better, especially for parts like the 12900kf and 3080 Ti, both of which are quite power hungry (and as a result, produce a lot of heat).

loony979 reacted to Eigenvektor in Water Cooling with in-line peltier cooler?
If a Peltier-element making direct contact with a CPU is inefficient, why would it become more efficient if you remove it from the CPU and put water in between? The amount of heat it can remove doesn't change. The amount of power it requires to do so doesn't change. The amount of cooling it requires in turn doesn't change.

Peltier only really makes sense in scenarios where you don't need a high temperature delta, don't have room for a better solution and efficiency isn't a primary concern. If Peltier cooling made sense for PC's, it would already exist in some form of commercial cooling solution.

Bought a "set of iPod original packaging and accessories, with defective iPod" for $30 (4th gen, 20GB).
Just has a bulged battery that pushed onto the controls and made the center key basically inert causing the described "weird behavior", but that's a $6 fix for a replacement battery, works 100% otherwise.
Also I wanted a FireWire iPod to use with my iMac G3 and seeing the 30pin connector I went, "oh well", but... I obviously don't know my iPod history and 3-4th gen actually support both FW and USB, and given the "for accessories" listing this came with the FW-30pin cable I didn't even know existed and the FW charger, so that was all a nice surprise coming back after a 2 week project delivery rush...

Ordered a battery and in the meantime did what it tells you not to do and punctured the cell to relieve the pressure - no more button pinching and should hold until the replacement comes, with bonus lithium battery electrolyte smell 😛

This is great. good to find another soft tubing person like my self. They just make life better. You may want to put a fan next to the pump if you can to try to keep it cool. Don't have to but i would as they get hot, the heatsink on them. But what ever man that's a clean build. Bit of air in the loop i saw tho that will make it's way out eventually.
