  1. Great, I'll give that a go tomorrow. Thanks for the help
  2. It was dry run for a few seconds, although that was after it had stopped working, and there aren't any obstructions. The ceramic bearing does seem to have some minor damage; there's a small amount of what looks like metal, although I can't tell if the surface is scratched or something is deposited on it. Thanks for the quick reply btw
  3. So I put together my first custom loop recently, and everything was working fine. A few days ago my pump (an XSPC D5 Vario) stopped turning on. When I disassembled the loop to have a look at it I found that the impeller was stiff, and it would not start spinning unless I manually spun it. Any advice on what could be causing this and how to fix it?
  4. Those prices seem to be about in line with the current Haswell-E pricing, being slightly more expensive than the current chips.
  5. Not sure if you noticed, but right at the top of that page it also says "The International Olympic Committee recognizes some board games as sports including Chess." Pretty certain chess doesn't require a great deal of physical fitness... On another note, a lot of the comments about how "gaming is not a sport" and "people can't make money from gaming" sound a lot like the people a few years ago, going on about how "making YouTube videos isn't a job". Which is quite ironic, seeing as we're having this discussion on a forum created by someone who makes a living from YouTube videos EDIT: That being said, I don't think e-sports should be at the Olympics. It's a great spectator event, sure, but it's not (at the moment) what people watching the Olympics want to see. There's a reason that Chess isn't part of the Olympics, despite being recognised as a sport.
  6. They were sued by investors who said they were misled by EAs per-release marketing for BF4, causing them to lose money on EA shares. Ubisoft shareholders could try, but the group that sued EA lost so they wouldn't stand much of a chance.
  7. C&C 4 is the only game I remember playing and actually thinking it was bad. I generally try to avoid playing games which I think are bad .
  8. It's amazing that there are so few phones with front-facing speakers on. I mean come on, how hard is it to work out?
  9. Yeah, I didn't like it during the RC for Win 8 but it grew on me.
  10. Personally I really like it; I was having a good time even when I was technically doing badly (unlike when I play BF4, when I can get annoyed even when doing well )
  11. You can only obtain the keys while the account's active (like's been said), but everything you get will keep working after your account's closed. It's how I got my copy of Windows 8 (it's actually alright when you don't pay for it )

    EA being sued

First off, I'd definitely be much happier if they (publishers in general) would only release games which weren't riddled with bugs. Like, who wouldn't? But when I was reading stuff about this, it seems that the final straw as it were for investors was when EA announced they were holding all DICE projects until BF4 was fixed. Now I don't know about anyone else, but that sounds like a really good move imo, and not something that should be shut down in the future because of the threat of a lawsuit. Obviously the ideal situation is that they actually release a game without any bugs (or at least without any more than your "average game"), but if a game is released which is buggy I don't want them (publishers in general) to be prevented from allocating a lot of resources to fixing them because they're worried about being sued by investors. Yeah, I think that's everything I wanted to say. Probably.
  13. Fair enough, item =/= service. Although if I have an unsecured wifi network I'm still an idiot but it's still (I think) illegal for someone to come and use it. And we don't know what the situation is with lights/other power needs, so we can't really make any reasoned argument about them without knowing more. Ofc if the situation is that there's some random electrical socket which is never used then that's fairly ridiculous but still not a reason for someone to just use it for their personal use.
  14. Regardless of where the outlet is positioned it's still school owned and so up to the school as to whether "the public" should be allowed to use it. Considering that it was near some tennis courts and a parking area I'd hazard a guess that it'd be used for lighting, perhaps. Or maybe that's the area where they hold fairs, and so they'll need power for that (and it'd be cheaper than having to rent a generator). If I leave my laptop on my front doorstep then I'm an idiot, but it's still theft if someone takes it (although not breaking and entering).
  15. He definitely has a right to use the facilities provided by the school, but what his taxes are paying for is the ability for him to (potentially) send his children there. I'd be fairly confident in thinking that one of the services provided by schools is not as a place to charge my electric car (unless there was a designated spot for doing so, and the school had said it was ok of course). Plugging in at a coffee shop is different, as most coffee shops don't have an issue with people charging devices; if they did, they would likely not provide sockets in publically accessible areas, or at least have signs up advising people that charging was not permitted. That being said, considering the offence, being arrested is pretty OTT imo. For something of this nature I'd expect at most a fine, and possibly just a warning.
