  1. http://in.reuters.com/article/2015/02/17/us-usa-cyberspying-idINKBN0LK1QV20150217 Moscow-based security software maker - Kaspersky Lab exposed a new part in a series of the Western cyberespionage operations. Kaspersky Lab didn't actually publicly announce which country is behind the spying campaign, but said it was close to Stuxnet, the NSA-led cyberweapon used to attack Iran's uranium enrichment facility. "A former NSA employee told Reuters that Kaspersky analysis is correct and that people still in the NSA valued these espionage programs as highly as Stuxnet. Another former intelligence operative confirmed that NSA had developed the prized technique of concealing spyware in hard drives, but said he didn't know which spy efforts relied on it." So I just read this and I'm more than slightly worried because who knows how much people are using "infected" HDDs from WD, Seagate or Toshiba(read: EVERYONE), but the question is if all the drives are "infected" or just those which were bought by governments and other "interesting" parties
  2. some interesting news/leaks about the upcoming GoPro Hero 4 http://dgise.com/post/62262921573/gopro-hero-4-specs-and-release-date-are-disclosed 4k at 30fps ; 1080p at 120fps ; 720p at 240fps possible because they went with a new SoC Ambarella A9 chip, dual A9 ARM Core ® CortexTM-A9 processor 1GHz with FPU accelerator also features "a completely new lens for shooting in dark" COMING OUT this October, according to the article, hopefully with about the same price of around $350-$399 -> Personally I want to get one
  3. 1st of all, this is not news, it's a question 2nd, yes, there is a "new" x79 WS-e version from Asus, but I haven't seen thunderbolt on x79 platform at all, but you can buy expansion cards for it, like Thunderbolt EX II from Asus and probably there are/will be more options and also, an update will be coming Q3-Q4, based on the Intel roadmaps, Haswell-E -> X99 motherboards with LGA 2011-3 chipset will be coming, not compatible with previous/current LGA 2011, and it will have DDR4, consumer 8-core CPU available and some other upgrades/features
  4. http://bgr.com/2014/01/27/moto-x-100-off-sale/ promotion limited to TODAY, Monday 27th of January from 3.00 PM to 4.00 PM EST -> 1 HOUR ONLY <- Motorola has announced this news on Friday via Twitter, of course we're talking about off-contract price, any version starting with 16GB for 299$ including the 32GB and the developer version ... however, there's some good news for everyone that doesn't buy it in this limited time frame: "After the special one-hour Moto X sale is over, Motorola will continue to sell the handset for a cheaper price, offering buyers $70 off the price of the phone from January 27 through February 14, which means unlocked Moto X pricing will start at $329 for the 16GB model." I think this is awesome news and I'd buy it if I was in the market for a new cell right now...
  5. dude, do you really need a hi-res display on 11" tablet/hybrid laptop powered by a low-powered Bay Trail CPU? it's going to be really good(hopefully), look at the Asus Transformer T100, it's amazing and it's fast and it's more than usable... you're not supposed to buy it so you could play some heavy-tasking games or something like that, it's a replacement for a tablet with a proper keyboard and a full Win 8/8,1 OS... that's my story and I'm sticking to it
  6. that's exactly how media negatively affects you, and it's a smear campaign against Tesla, if you read what any of the news about the fires said you'd be amazed how safe the car actually is, watch this interview and educate yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3VUSAHjr10 more material... http://www.businessinsider.com/tesla-should-be-pissed-over-fire-coverage-2013-11
  7. and to the ppl that are so passionate about the build quality... "everyone" has a cover for their phone... so GS4 is perfect, and it's WAAAY cheaper... the only thing that is kinda "innovation" on the iPhone 5 S i think is the 64 bit CPU... all the other stuff is bullcrap... I still think Nexus 4 is better and Nexus 5 is going to be epic if they put the S800 in
  8. I'm also looking at Blue switches and blue backlit mech-board... i think the "cheapest" option is CM Storm Quicfire TK, to me it looks awesome, its num-pad has dual purpose and can be used for arrow keys and home, delete and those buttons + it can be switched to work as a num-pad, has a nice backplate and gorgeous blue backlight, from what I've seen :D this is almost definitely the keyboard I'm going to buy, soon :D http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/keyboards/quickfiretk/
  9. yup, get any Asus Xonar audio card, preferably pci-x(future proof) and I would suggest Audio Technica's ATH-M50 for about $150-$170 or if you can't afford them or want open-air desing go for ATH-AD700 i think, I heard a lot of good for both :D
  10. waiting on summer-sale
  11. I also meant the fan that is in the 1st post you made, in the picture, there is 1 fan above your reservoir tank, to the right... what's it doing there, also, which thermal paste did you use ?
  12. If I were you, I would definitely change the OS from Win7 to Win8, first of all, you can get Win 8 for $89/$130(pro) - $90-$40 cheaper, and future proof, you just get a normal start menu, there are A LOT of options(free and paid) which improves the use, and then I'd invest in something or just save money for a bigger upgrade, like a 27" 1440p monitor - good for editing photo/video with better color reproduction and programming/modeling :D
  13. yup, it's possible to make it like that, I agree on the narrow MoBo... I'm just saying what i noticed first, or a Faith that is hanging on the edge of the chassis/case up top or on the side/on the mesh of the fans/radiators, that would be sooooo COOL :D
  14. 1 question, why hasn't anyone suggested he sold his 650 ti boost 2GB OC edition and buy something nicer, so imagine this, if you sold it for like $100-120, maybe $150 since it's practically new, you could add those $250 you have on the side and get a GTX 770 2GB, which is better than a 680 and ~$100 cheaper
  15. you can also get different headphones instead of the 558's, Audio Technica ATH-M50's are more than amazing headphones and a bit cheaper, and if you give your parents a listen on those, I'm sure they won't mind it :P after all, it's "your" money :P also they are open design headphones, and they have a 6,3mm(thicker) audio jack(normal -> 3,5mm)
