  1. Look into the programs that you'll be needing to run and show him the recommended specs for x Program..... And as a Programmer, a complex programming environment can easily suck up to 32GB of ram.... or even more (I work at a company that programs AI and our developers tend to use anywhere from 24-36GB of ram at all times.... due to multiple instances + multiple local VMs that they use for testing). Most high spec machines have 32GB on board (or 16GB with easy accessibility to all internal components which also means you'd be able to easily upgrade it down the line if need be). AAAAAAALLLLLSSSSO Graphic acceleration for your design programs.... more gpu = better So yeah, that could be a few reasons
  2. Weeeeeeeelllllllll - The a10 has a higher operating frequency, but the 980x can be overclocked ... - The 980x has better single core performacne - The a10 has an increased memory bandwidth and offers other creature comforts like usb 3.0 and PCI 3.0 So they both have their ups and downs... You may see a few frames more with the 980 on games that rely on the cpu more than gpu ...
  3. Most liekly someone who works at "Microsoft support" .....
  4. Awesome to hear :).... The case shouldn't be that big of a problem ... or are you running your rig out of a Cardboard box ? (jokes aside .... I've done it before, so it could vary well be that this is the case... no pun intended)
  5. If this is possible .... and you have the funds for it ... I'd second this idea....
  6. I agree with ya, but my Girlfriend is playing PUBG without any frame drops with her i5 2500k ... tis worth a shot ...
  7. Which motherboard are you using? Or is it an Asus Laptop?
  8. I'll try the normal answers that everyone gives.... are the drivers for your GPU up to date ? If not update them - alongside your chipset drivers. It's worth a shot. Alongside that I would try using Vsync like others have stated.
  9. Not an Apple fanboy whatso ever, but they are built like tanks (at least the 2009 Model that I had back in High School) and I dig their Industrial design..... They are a bit pricey, but they are rather well made.
  10. I have to say I am personally a fan of Clevo Notebooks as well as asus ROG based Notebooks... never had a problem with them (other than the motherboard dying in my G74, but I may have been at fault of that hehe .....)
  11. 400 Down 50 Up cable internet, "Premium" Cable TV(two DVRS), and two Home Phone Lines for 35 USD per month.... I can't complain...
  12. TADA! .... Make that heatsink nice and shiny and then paste her up!
  13. Anything from BeQuite, Scythe, or Noctua should be great ! I personally use a Scythe Cooler and it has been running great !
  14. I would try re thermal pasting it .... Why not buy the paste oline ?
  15. This ..... THIS .... a good The difference in a PSU and an OK PSU could be the dciding factor between component Failure / House catching fire.....
  16. I'd go with something from BeQuite, Silverstone, EVGA, or FSP. (PSU) .... Other than that it looks good!
  17. Then you would be on the lower end of the spectrum :(..... And no problem
  18. Well depending on what model GTX 660 you have you could will get between $110-$180 for the pair if you sell them on eBay.... minus eBay Fees and scuh you're looking at $100-$170ish if you are on the higher end of the spectrum you could be able to get a GTX 1060 for a around 150-170 Used and around 200 New on eBay if you shop around. I would go for that if you want to stay with Nvidia but that is just me ^^
  19. That all depends on if you are actually interested in any VR Titles... if you are just wanting to "try it" and then you grow bored of it in a few weeks after you get it then I would say go for a new PC / Upgrade your current one.
  20. Not worth it unless you have a 4k display ... even if you had one I wouldn't get it....
  21. Let the guy do what he wants :).... Macbooks are built like a rock - an overpriced rock , but nevertheless built like a rock! (Jokes aside I had a 2009 Macbook Pro for school and absolutely loved it - purchased used for $200 but hey ... some people are willing to pay the full price tag) .
  22. I absolutely love my Amazon Basics bag that i was gifted . Plenty of space for other things along side the camera itself at a steller price! https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Large-Gadget-Orange-interior/dp/B00CF5OHZ2
