SilentXer0 reacted to manikyath in Asus aura...is there really no way to input an RGB value?
now you say.. that does sound like an asus thing to do..
"oh yeah, we have RGB LEDs, how will we store the values?" "hmm.. how about hue, saturation, and lightness?"

SilentXer0 reacted to MidnightBanshi in Help decide on new graphics cards
GTX 1080ti - pick your flavor - since this one is faster in single-core, the 1080ti will help maximize what you plan to do with it.
EVGA GTX 1070 FTW/FTW2 - the speed isn't as high, but then again, the Ryzen chips don't have as fast of a clock speed in single-core either.

SilentXer0 reacted to TheTelperion in How do you make forums?
Read this: https://codex.bbpress.org
And see if you're skilled enough to configure it.
There are enough cheap hosting options out there, which will automatically make a Wordpress site.
(Also, other forum users. Take it easy. He's a kid with a MineCraft avatar asking for help)

SilentXer0 got a reaction from stealth80 in Best Intel upgrade for the price?
to make your motherboard support a newer chip ( i think everyone is assuming you have an older motherboard as it's not listed)

SilentXer0 reacted to stealth80 in Best Intel upgrade for the price?
Because the Z170 board was released prior to the 7700K so it needs to be updated to recognise the CPU and you need to do it with your current CPU as you cant do it with a CPU it doesnt recognise

that system got a new supply, But it was cleaned and put in one of my home systems (my sons minecraft server), so if it fails i don't have to leave the house to service it.

SilentXer0 got a reaction from Wiizimov in The difference between a founders edition card and custom branded card (MSI in this case)
the $200 price tag on the 980ti is too good to pass up, that's half what you would pay for a 1070 and performance will be pretty even.

SilentXer0 got a reaction from JPotze in New LTT video request
unless it's a quad channel setup there would be no advantage,
the processor will still only address 2 sticks at a time (dual channel) 64 bit bus per dim and only send the data at the set frequency.
the second set of dims would share the bus and frequency with the first set, so there would be no room for a gain.

SilentXer0 got a reaction from The Sloth in Mild Criticism of LTT Tests
it seems it's a mixed bag on the reviews

SilentXer0 got a reaction from straight_stewie in Interesting RAM observation
i would have to agree with this, and high swap file usage will cause cpu load which could be why cpu usage is so high.
edit: @straight_stewie said this already, hadn't read his post.

I'm still for hiring actual producer who knows to operate things.

SilentXer0 reacted to LinusTech in Suggestion: Wan Show Setup
It's unlikely that we'll change much in the near future for a show that runs only once per week, but having someone have an eye on the stream is probably worth looking into
-
SilentXer0 got a reaction from TechFanboy in Suggestion: Wan Show Setup
yes, having someone to monitor the stream ,adjust audio levels and switch video streams would raise the production quality of the stream.
I don't feel like a full fledged engineer would be needed, just someone familiar with the hardware/software they have in use.
