It looks pretty good. PIA or NordVPN are both excellent

It's worth using one if you have a reason to use one, and depending on that reason a free VPN will suffice or it won't.

Most certainly not, but that shouldn't have too much weight in your own decision.

The stock cooler is adequate for cooling, but is a little loud. It will be fine.

No required as you can't overclock it.

Stock one will be loud and warm (not overheating though). It'll do.

Thunderbolt 3 is a requirement for running external GPU's. I don't know which ones have that, but that is the feature that you need to look for.

It is only "officially" supported by razer (and any brand that makes their own external gpu dock) but you may want to take a look at these videos that linus put out:
TLDR: it works with pretty much anything that has TB3.

Thunder3 doesnt not mean its egpu compatible, has to be enable or something by the manufacturer. Someone said that in some forum on the internet.

Only specific GPUs will work with specific PCs that have been designed to support eGPU capability and pass Thunderbolt 3 certification. Without Thunderbolt certification for eGPU capability, the system behavior can be unpredictable. To address this question about certifications, they’re creating a page on the Thunderbolt website where you can find available Thunderbolt certified devices:
    https://thunderbolttechnology.net/products?tid=All&field_company_nid=All&field_prod_os_value_many_to_one=All&field_prod_tb_version_value_many_to_one=tbv3
    And Gigabyte supports eGPU

But...that doesn't make any sense. It's not like you're carrying it around with you, it's sitting on your desk. Why does it matter how much space it takes up? Not only that, why would you want two boxes on your desk instead of one?
It's not like having an external GPU is suddenly cheaper because you only use it a couple times a month.
