  1. I'm planning on hosting a modded Minecraft server (1.12.2, 15ish mods, 10 or so players peak hours). I already have an LGA 1155 motherboard. Out of the CPUs listed here, which ones would you recommend for optimal performance?
  2. Looks like the Optiplex 7010 is Q77 while the Inspiron 660 is B75.
  3. I have an Inspiron 660 that won't post. As far as I know, the motherboard is dead. I bought a Dell Optiplex 7010 motherboard on eBay, but it won't post. I know the socket type is the same, but do I have to flash the bios in order to use an i5 3330?
  4. I already updated my bios. The only thing I found related to integrated graphics had no settings when I opened it.
  5. I have an R3 1300x so I don't have integrated graphics which could cause that.
  6. The problem I've found is that when I put my GTX 970 into the first PCIe slot, I get a VGA error on boot. However, if I use my RX 460 in the same slot it boots perfectly fine. So, I decided to try the second PCIe slot with my GTX 970. And it works! On top of this, I also tried the same thing with another build running the same exact motherboard, and the issue persists. I also tried updating the BIOS and nothing changed. Is there any explanation as to why this would happen? Here's my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pvRGgw
  7. CPU: Ryzen 3 1300x GPU: AMD RX 460 (4GB) RAM: 8GB @ 2133MHz
  8. OK, I need help. So I took apart my Dell Dimension 2400 that was sitting around so I could clean it and stuff and now when I put it back together it has a pre-bios failure (I can tell by the diagnostic LEDs on the mobo). I looked online and people said that the capacitors may be bad and I checked but I don't think they are. I just took out to mobo to look again and they look perfectly fine. The LED on the mobo is green too. Please help, I wanted to keep this PC in working order incase I needed to use it. I reseated the RAM and CPU, and the jumpers are in the correct place. (I posted this in BulletBarry's Discord, on Reddit, and Tom's Hardware)
  9. So currently I've been using the integrated graphics from my AMD A6-6400K and I have been looking into getting a video card. I've been considering the 1050 or the 1050 ti, but I'm not sure if I should get the 1050 and get 8 more GB of DDR3 (so I would have 16 GB) or just get the 1050 ti. Also, I'm looking into a new APU because the one I have now is dual core. FM2+ socket type, less than $100. Please give me your thoughts.
  10. So I used the wrong screws for the motherboard an used the correct screws and now it works with a screwdriver at least.
  11. OK it's working now with the other drive.
  12. I realized that I would have too install it on the hardware I'm trying to run it on. Anyway, I believe that the problem lies with the hard drive itself. I am going to DBAN another hard drive and install Windows 7 on that instead.
  13. Here is a link to the full system specs: https://goo.gl/ANx908 Here is a link to the HDD: https://goo.gl/cpA1qn (I got the Hard Drive for free but otherwise I would've gotten a 1TB instead) I installed the OS by using a flash drive with the ISO on it. My boot order is fine and the BIOS/UEFI can see it. I don't think that there are any firmware updates. I am going to try to boot from it on another PC to see if it works on that.
  14. So I just finished building my PC so I installed Windows 7 64bit. I was installing drivers for my mobo when my PC restarted. Now when it boots from my HDD it won't do anything, the screen is on but nothing happens. I tried messing with the uefi with no luck. Already tried the Windows installer fixer thing. Please help. Motherboard: ASRock fm2a88m pro3+
  15. I made sure everything was plugged in. I also used a different Power Cable thing that attaches to the motherboard and tried to use that to turn it on without the button. So far I've had no luck, I tried the front panel connector thing with another PC and it didn't work too. I think I'm just going to return the motherboard and buy a different case especially because the case I have now is terrible.
