  1. FYI: This video is listed as "PRIVATE" in Google Plus. You might want to look into this to make sure you maximize your views. Excellent video!
  2. 540 Air- has to be one of the easiest cases to work on. Have built 5 systems using this case. Not much to complain about. PS sits behind the MB. Haven't had any issues with its airflow. If you really want additional airflow there, you could mod or add a 120mm fan above the PS (behind the MB). Noise : this is more dependent on how you set up your fans (voltage reducers + set them up & forget about them). Has these hot swap bays for HD on the bottom. If you don't use them, it leaves two large square holes. Not a great design feature. I modded mine to put a 200 mm LED fan to pull in cool air that feeds the GPU at low rims (low noise). After building about 20 plus computers, you appreciate the small thought ou details. Corsair, definitely fits this bill. The case is well engineered (with a few issues).
  3. It would be nice if someone or the website would do a more fleshed out step-by-step process on how to activate your Windows product after purchase. The website does have a brief explanation however in reality it is more confusing.
  4. True, multiple reviews. This true for most product/service reviews. I don't care whose review is 1st. What attracts me to certain reviews is their style, perspective, how informative they are, do I respect/trust the reviewer, and most importantly would this review tell me (without purchasing the item myself) would I be happy with this product? I, probably like most of your viewers, am particularly picky, tech oriented, and not the "average" consumer. Having reviews from a similar orientation is refreshing. Your team hits all the marks I look for. I've often consider the GoPro cameras but always find reasons to avoid pulling the trigger. They don't seem to have a comparable competitor. What has turned me off is the $cost$ of entry, they engineer their product to require you having to mostly purchase from their Universe (See also Apple Universe), and it seems like it is deceptively simple product (this will require more time & $ than is advertised). I have paused to purchase: my worry = after use you realize need for better sound, better camera mounting, better video editing, better lighting, .... Crap = I've opened another life force suck = limited time vs time consuming hobby. Even if your review confirms my fears, your review would be welcomed and highly valuable.
  5. Yes, you will have a wicked sore throat for @ 2 weeks. You won't be able to tolerate eating your normal diet during this time. You will likely not feel like eating much at all and lose a few lbs (or kilo). The back of your throat will have a wet scab form : looks weird = white colored. This strange appearance is due to the scab always being wet. When the underlying tissue heals, the scab will fall off. Likely you will swallow it. Feel better & get well soon.
  6. My biggest issue with head phones of any price is comfort. I have Beyerdynamic Custom One PRO, but can only wear for 30-40 minutes because they pinch my glasses against my temples. Other comfort issue is the heat build up = closed over the ear cups can get hot n sweaty. Thus I would be less willing to take a chance on $1k headphones. Can you try them out for a day be fore committing a USA Cleveland (guy on the $1k bill)?
  7. Static charge? Does any one really take the steps to be this cautious? These products have to be engineered to take some abuse. They are sold to be messed around with by a dork like me, they just can't be this fragile & expect to stay in business.
  8. Dual windows at 6:49 would be my favorite feature. Texting while referencing a web page would be helpful with my work.
  9. BRIX Pro Desktop Computer - & other manufacturers I am also looking at. Just have not seen too much comparing these in groups. I guess, it is like comparing regular PCs because depending on what is put in them and what they are meant to do, it is comparing apples to oranges. Just would like to get opinions on these small form factors and what other's experiences have been.
  10. Just researching for Mini - PCs as possible solution for business and home - TV computing for family + friends. The pros - they are bare bones, fan - less, small, draw low power and are ideal for browsing internet and other low intensity computing operations. The cons - I find very little real world experience or good reviews on these tiny form factor computers. Thus I am here asking the LinusTechTips community for advice, opinions, and personal experience with these devices. Here are a few that have grabbed my attention: Digital Engine DEX7150 http://www.aopen.com/eu/shop/categories/media-players/products/digital-engine-dex7150 Acer L Revo RL80-UR22 http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model-datasheet/DT.SPMAA.001 Asus VivoPC VC60 https://www.asus.com/Commercial_Desktops/VivoPC_VC60/ Gigabyte GB-BXi5 -4570R http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4889#ov Intel NUC Kit DC3217BY http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-kit-dc3217by.html MSI USA DC111 - 040US http://us.msi.com/product/desktop/DC111040US.html There are of course many more options out there and some may be better suited for home web browsing from the TV vs. work environment - business use. Tom's Hardware seems to one of the few to give these systems a look in any detail : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/mini-pc-round-up,3697.html Any other thoughts out there? Am I missing a community that has shown some love for the small form factor Mini PC market? Thank you in advance for your input. Ryan
  11. Buyer beware ... But Steam is getting associated with this poor work product. Total biscuit has a good point of view on this exact topic: http://youtu.be/sLNh5HPbQPo
  12. Some co- workers are having trouble with connecting to the internet wirelessly. We have upgraded our wireless router (Asusu dual band - sorry don't remember product code). I work with my Digital Storm custom gaming ultrabook and it has a dual band wireless card. I don't have any problems getting a good connection. As I understand it, 5GHz allows me to connect with less interference (microwaves, other 2.4 GHz signals) & may be the reason why I don't have issues but my co-workers do. I still have to check to see if it is even possible to swap a dual band card in their Toshiba laptops (sorry don't remember the brand) - it might be moot if it is soldered in. If I am able to swap to a dual band card, when I looked up the price of cards I noticed that the "RP-SMA antenna" is not included. Will I need to get a special antenna that supports dual band or will I be able to use the one that was running 2.4 GHz single band? I am hoping to keep everything internal because these computers are moved around a lot and anything dangling could be a problem (catch on something). If I need a special laptop antenna, other than installing the card's drivers, will I need anything else? I have tools to open the laptop case and I have upgraded Ram in these machines. So a small bit of experience of messing around. Thanks for the help. Ps I searched the tutorial section , networking section , & laptop section for "dual band" but got Butkus : hope this was the right place to ask.
  13. Thank you all for the suggestions. I will be getting some hands on experience with the above laptops over next couple of weeks. I really appreciate the help!
  14. Acer Aspire S7-392 Good idea. Pretty laptop. I will check this model out!
