Only Chrome and Chromium sync with a Google account. You could try out Vivaldi if that's not a necessity.

1660 is of course the best option and yes NVENC gets better over different generations. Yes 1660 has Turing's encoder, only the 1650 so far has a different one (1650S has Turing's encoder)

    Depends.

If you are doing h264. The answer is no. If you're doing h265, the answer is a definite yes. (nv_hevc is h265)

Triventular got a reaction from Dioneyesos in Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M: error 43
This happened to m gtx 970 on my pc.. windows would see its a gtx 970 but was using windows basic display drivers. Installing nvidia drivers on it caused the screen to turn on and off repeatedly and it was full of red artifacting. I fixed it by placing a support on the end of the card cuz i did something kida bad with my pci-e slot. You can try and check if your 960m is an mxm card and try to re-seat it or if not, check the board for any type of damage it would seem to have.

If the PSU only has 6 pin connectors, it's not a good PSU.

    Rule of thumb.

If a card has 2 connectors, use them. I forget who (I think it was Jay) but a while back they showed slight improvement from running 2 cables over 1 daisy chain cable. Probably not enough to worry about unless you're overclocking competitively

twitch only allows upto 6000kbps afaik so drop it down cuz for a 720p60fps stream that's already too much. Use OBS, the latest version of obs further increases how good nvenc encoder is and generally makes the stream look much better

Triventular reacted to Spotty in what drivers do i need? what bench marking software do you recommend? #newpc
Those are stress tests, not benchmarks. They just put a heavy load on the CPU to test stability and thermals. They don't give you a performance score that a benchmark would.
3DMark, Superposition, Heaven, and Cinebench are your best bet for benchmarks to test the performance and get a score.

As for drivers, windows will install most of them automatically. Just grab the drivers for your graphics card from the Nvidia website.

Triventular reacted to demonix00 in Keyboards with a hardware option to disable Windows key?
There are keyboards that use a 2 key combination (normally a dedicated function key combined with the windows key) to disable and enable the windows key without the requirement for any software.

My steelseries apex RAW has that ability so there is the possibility that current models have the same function, and check the product descriptions as they might mention if a specific keyboard has a windows key lock function.

sorry to bring this up and i just wanna say thank you to everyone who answered my questions here.. after this thread, i ordered a gammaxx 400 and thermal grizzly kryonaut and my temps dropped more dramatically than i thought it would. my gpu and cpu before would be at 80c whenever i did something. now my cpu rarely exceeds 60c with the new gammaxx 400 i ordered with kyronaut and my gpu rarely goes beyond 70c with the new thermal paste haha thanks guys!

Triventular got a reaction from Hip in Microphone: 3.5mm vs USB
i'd go with the 3.5mm, cuz if your onboard audio was bad, you can always buy an external sound card and it would be better. unlike if you bought the usb, if the (i forgot what its exactly called) audio adapter built in the usb itself is bad then you're just stuck.

    My experience:
I had a mic that was decent but my onboard audio has a lot of static so i decided to buy an unbranded usb mic thinking it would be good. when i plugged it in, it had way more static than my onboard audio and sounds way worse. ended up buying an external soundcard for the mic and now i have the audio quality i want. i just dismantled the usb mic and threw it around cuz it was basically useless at that point.
