  1. I just purchased a Lenovo laptop. Hopefully I'll have more luck with that one. Will be the last time I ever purchase an ASUS product...
  2. The drivers of the gpu are up to date with nvidia geforce. I replaced the battery and cmos battery twice with brand new batteries. I really dont think its the battery... even with the battery unplugged, and the charger plugged in.. it will turn on, but same problem, turns off after about 30 mins. So i really dont think its the battery....
  3. I did a fresh install of windows and all drivers are up to date. The display works fine, its not the display. The replacement battery is the exact same genuine asus battery that is meant to go in the laptop. Even with the ssd removed and letting it go to bios, the laptop still turned off after about 20 mins, so i dont think its the ssd
  4. I will do my best to explain exactly what's happened. I would really appreciate any suggestions. I live on a small island in Thailand which makes contacting ASUS customer service and shipping the laptop to them for diagnosis a pain in the butt. It's an ASUS FX505DT laptop that is just over 1 year old. It has a R7 3750h, GTX 1650, 528gb nvme ssd. It came with 8gb of ram and I added another 8gb immediately after purchasing it. For the first 6 months it worked great without any problems. Until one night I fell asleep watching Netflix and the battery drained itself. The next morning I went to plug it in and play some video games, but it wouldn't boot. It would turn on for a second or two but then immediately turn back off. I decided to leave it plugged in for a day or two. When I returned after a day or two and tried again, it started working normally again, and would boot up just fine. For the next few months it worked great again, no problems. Until one night I did the same, fell alseep watching Netflix and drained the battery. The next morning, same thing, it wouldn't boot. Just turn on for a second and turn right back off. I left it plugged in for a day or two and tried again. This time it would boot, and I could even play video games for a few hours - but then it would randomly turn off. Sometimes it would only stay on for a few minutes, sometimes for multiple hours. My initial thought was maybe its overheating, so I ran HWMonitor while gaming but saw zero signs of overheating. I decided to replace the battery and CMOS battery. This seemed to work, and I was very happy. The computer worked great again. But only a few weeks later the problem returned. This time, I hadn't let the battery drain while watching Netflix. It would turn off seemingly randomly. Sometimes I could play video games all day and it worked fine, other days it wouldn't boot at all. Yesterday I replaced the battery and CMOS battery once more, and did a fresh install of Windows, but that didn't solve anything. I played video games for around 6 hours without any issues, but then it randomly turned off and won't turn back on. I also tried removing the ssd and let it sit in bios, it turned off after about 20 mins so i dont think its the ssd. I also removed the battery and let it run just from the charger, same thing, turned off after about 20 mins. I'm really not in the position to be throwing a bunch of money at potential fixes. I would really appreciate any suggestions.
  5. My new Samsung A52 doesn't show the day of the week on the homescreen. Seems odd to have to open the weather or calendar app just to see the day. I can't seem to find a solution on Google or in the settings. Can anyone please help?

  8. I'm getting a laptop to use for gaming. I mostly play Rust. Option A: i5 10300h and GTX 1650ti Option B: Ryzen 5 4600h and GTX 1650 Which setup would you recommend for gaming?
  9. I live on a small island so getting things shipped is a pain in the ass, so preferably would get it all in one purchase
  10. I've searched on Google and YouTube. The information was mixed on what ram speed is used..... Some seem to be 2400, some 2666, etc....
  11. Hello I'm planning on purchasing this laptop but want to upgrade it to 16gb ram (2x 8gb). Can anyone please confirm that this ram is compatible with this laptop? Exact products are in the pictures. Thank you!
  12. Thank you Linus for doing a R7 2700 to i7 8700 comparison. This comparison is completely original and has never been done before. What would we do without this much needed information? And why were a i5 and R5 shown on the thumbnail but not tested?
