  1. I get that, but what do you mean with "tested" backup? How can i achieve that? I mean, i will probably be able to set up automated backup for once a week or a month, but how do i test it?
  2. Sorry, i think i really badly worder myself... I know raid is not a backup. I have that solved already. What i meant to say there is that i am deciding to use raid 1 to mirror 2 disks so i dont have to set it up fresh if 1 disk dies. I will have backup of that data separate from NAS as i have it of my own files. As for Google Photos family plan, i cant do that. i will need that for more than 6 people, which is limit to family plan. i think i will have around 15 users on it.
  3. Hi I am trying to set up a diy home server for use as photo backup and cloud storage for my family and relatives. I was thinking about using my old PC as server. I have a few HDDs lying around and could do RAID1 backup aswell. Next up, i was going to install TrueNAS on it, and run something like Plex, JellyFin or Emby on it. Now i want to know, what do you guys think of this solution? Which media server would you recommend? Keep in mind that i need it to be simple to use for all ages, and it needs to have an option to upload photos from smartphone directly to my server. But i dont want it syncing the whole camera feed directly. Which platform would you guys choose and how would you build and configure it? Would be better to use some linux distro? Or maybe even windows server? I want to see some recommendations :) Thanks
  4. I did try that multiple times. But no luck.
  5. Hi guys I have a problem with my laptop. Wake from sleep is not working for integrated trackpad and keyboard. I will attach screenshots of device manager showing that power management tab is missing from integrated keyboard and mouse. And a screenshot of power settings in bios. So here is the problem. I can wake laptop with opening the lid, and with press of a power button. I can also wake it from external usb mouse or keyboard, but i cannot wake it with integrated keyboard or trackpad. I have tried updating bios and it is still the same. I changed all power settings in bios and no luck. Can someone help me get power management tab back to trackpad and keyboard so i can wake up my laptop with integrated peripherals? I updated every driver i could find. Oh, and the laptop is HP ProBook 470 G3 I5-6200U 4GB RAM Intel HD Graphics 520 AMD Radeon R7 M340 Win 10 Pro - Version 19044.1503 BIOS version N78 Ver. 01.53

  7. Hi Does anyone have any good suggestions for Linux distro that is simple to use for non tech people and that would work well on an old laptop? I am talking IBM Thinkpad T40 (512mb of RAM, Intel Pentium M 1.5 GHz, 72GB HDD) It will be used for web browsing and importing photos from camera to order and print online. nothing heavy. Any suggestions for appropriate OS?
  8. It fluctuates a lot. I can get it down to 5% if i close all running processes and wait for a minute or two. but when i move my cursor it creeps up again.
  9. Already checked for updates. It says that my system is up to date and no updates are available.
  10. Hi forum :) i need some help from you guys. I am still running on amd fx-6100. i know it is old and i am planning to upgrade. but meanwhile, i would still like to play some games. cpu is paired with r9 280x and 8gb ram. I am on clean install of windows as of yesterday because i thought formatting my pc would resolve the issue. Anyways, i need help. Cpu is idling at around 50% usage. When i open my game, for example League of Legends, i get hit with 100% cpu load in game and my fps drops to 20, with no sign of overheating and gpu load at 10%. all settings set as low as they can go. Does anyone have any solution as to why is my cpu under so much load? how could i fix it?
  11. Hello. I need some help. I want to use Spotify but it is not available in my country. I live in Slovenia which is in Europe. Can anyone suggest how could i get it working on my phone and my PC? I know that VPN would be the best option and i could get Spotify for free and pretend that i am in UK since Spotify is available there. But there is a catch. If i use VPN i can't access some websites in Slovenia because they are also geo restricted. So i don't want to turn VPN on and off all the time. I also tried turning on VPN just for the time registering to Spotify and then using it without VPN. But then my account gets deactivated after a month for being active in different country than registered in for too long and it wants me to buy Spotify premium and i can't listen any more. I would gladly pay for premium monthly to keep using it abroad, but i don't have UK credit card and Spotify will not accept credit card from my country. Does anyone have any solution or suggestion on how could i get it working? Thanks for your time and help.
