Video Suggestion for Linus Tech Tips: (I don't think he covered this topic before)

PCIe cellular LTE Modem use with a laptop such as a Thinkpad P50.

the Thinkpad P50 laptop has a PCIe slot underneath its keyboard where it appears a modem can be added, and the 2 antenna cables for it. However it is unclear how this type of thing can be done.

There are PCIe LTE modems available online, PCIe SIM card adapters with PCIe slots on them, etc.

Maybe the video can feature the P50 laptop? But be geared towards adding an LTE modem in the following forms to a laptop:  PCIe, M.2, and USB.

Maybe Linus could shed some light for a user to DIY a T Mobile, Verizion, or Mint Mobile LTE connection to a laptop? (Some require SIM cards).

Yep, instructions are here for that assuming you already know how to set up a virtual machine https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneye/wiki/Installation
Motioneye only supports linux. You would need to install Linux on the machine or run it inside a virtual machine. Since you seem to be using it as just a media server maybe linux would actually be ideal? If you need support setting up Linux just give me a shout.

    i5 6600/6600k or 7600/7600k, 6500/ 7500 would be a sweet spot for a midrange 1080p Intel build.

My take on this is, is that other reviewers have done the exact same thing, gone on about Intel, similar to Linus, and the way that they rushed out their new platform with the upper/ higher core counts being added at the last minute and also for MoBo's having features that won't be able to be accessed without the appropriate CPU's.
Personally, I remember the 775 platform when it came out, yeah that old thing, I got a low cost cpu, and in its end days I got a Q8400 and the mobo is an ASUS P5Q Deluxe. The motherboard features were not locked.
Even on newer mobo’s of Intel, you get most of the things available to you that are NOT CPU bound.
For my work pc, I got an AMD A88x with Raid 5. So, that would mean I would most likely have to pay way more, just to get that functionality enabled! I might as well buy a Raid card instead of pay Intel for the “Privilege”.
They are trying now to become more like “Apple”, i.e. a “Closed Wall”. AMD seems to be like “Android” and Intel going the path of “Apple” for a closed system.
    No thanks Intel.

Oh I agree, I don't think Intel really has anything to worry about.  I think Linus was just disappointed at how lazy of a response this was from Intel.  Though you make a good point there right at the end about the internet (shall we say, the general populace?) placing importance in meaninglessness, and I think Intel knows this, which is probably exactly what the whole i9 etc launch was about.  Because there would be a lot of people saying things like "Threadripper?! Damn Intel, and you just going to take that??" so they hastily launch a lazy retort.  I will fully admit I'm sadly misinformed about...  well nearly everything, but this is just what the whole thing seems like to me at this point.

BGR took notice of Linus's rant about the i9 and X299 chipset.  "For such a big player to break from the script and annoy the biggest processor company on earth isn’t a common occurrence, so more than ever it’s worth taking note."  The author makes an interesting point that Linus wasn't afraid to tell it like it is (though really, when has he ever?).

I would say yes. Processors haven't been advancing as fast as GPU's these days. Many people are stillusing 4-5 year old CPU's on modern gaming PC's.

And I'd be willing to bet Kaby Lake will still support 1151 because they just moved from 1150 to 1151 for skylake and they usually don't phase out a socket type so soon. Lots of people (like me) would be pissed they bought a Mobo that was only good for one year. Plus Skylake and Kaby Lake are both 14nm so there's no problems there. From what I understand, Kaby Lake is just going to be the new die  from Skylake but now more refined and fully utilized with a new microarchitecture. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Intel has ever used a new socket on the "tock" of their tick-tock cycle (tick=die shrink, tock=new microarchitecture)

This Thread further enforces my belief that it's not worth waiting for Kaby
