  1. I know it is dusty i just cleaned it
  2. Hi my motherboard is the MSI x79A-GD65 (8D) lga 2011, im pretty sure there is no space op top of my top card, theonly posible space is this one: That bottom cable is for a usb 3.0 bracket i can remove it
  3. Wow if they're really be priced like that i would highly consider that an option, any idea when are they coming out?
  4. Also regarding my original doubt about spacing and efficiency hit, if i do go through the route of buying the 770's, then its not worth buying the sound card and risking a performance/temps hit (then buy only the pair of headphones or headset), or would it have no effect on the performance?
  5. Ill have to consider 290x's price but of the benchmarks I've seen the 290x is VERY similar to the titan in performance, and the 770's are considerably higher in performance than the titan
  6. Well they were intended for gaming only i use the 650's for music more than anything i haven't heard anything related to 650's and gaming, i just want something that is GOOD for gaming (i would say competitively) and i heard those were really good headphones, even the senns 363d so that is why im in such a debate. Edit: so you think a single 290x will be superior than sli 770s?
  7. I've been using sli now for about a year and im pretty happy with the results, that is why i was considering sli 770 again
  8. Well I usually prefer the green team, but I've seen the attention these new AMD cards are getting, the problem is that i feel that a sli gtx770 would be more or less the same price +/- 100$, and the preformance of the sli would be greater (at least i think so) and the amount of money i have to spend for another 290x is MUUUCH greater, so if i go sli770 i would receive more power than a single 290x that i would probably wouldn't be able to xfire in the future.
  9. Well my intention for those headphones are purely gaming, I already own a pair of Sennheisers hd650, a pair of Senn HD555 and a tritton true 5.1 gaming headset, I wanted to replace the headset, and I read in MANY forums that the AD700x are very good for positional sound, and that pairing it with that sound card would make them shine, my other option were the Sennheiser pc363D, I already discussed in a different part of this forum whether I should buy a headset or buy an amp for my HD650´s,´they recomended me to go for the 02+odac but i dont want to use them (hd 650's) for my gaming sessions, and that were the ad700x or the senn 363d come in, and why the 290s over the 770s? aren't they going to be about 700$ each? thanks for the reply
  10. SO i have the following problem... I wish to update some of my computer´s components, from which one is adding a sound card to use with the ATH AD700x for gaming, I was looking for the Asus Xonar essence stx, and a couple of gtx770's to replace my old 570´s, the problem is that i don't know if the sound card will fit, the only available space left is the far bottom one and it is kinda tight with the bottom graphics card, so my doubt is if the sound card being there will affect the performance/temps of the gtx 770, the model of the card i want to get is the EVGA gtx 770 4gb FTW ACX cooler edition.
  11. I was looking for the modmic, but apparently they're always out of stock so I discarded that option a long time ago.
  12. First time I added the Zalman to the wishlist it was around 17$, i bet there will be more stores who sell them cheaper that 30$ in amazon, but if the sony is 25$ and sound much better or better i would go for the sony solution EDIT: sony: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000246SKU/ref=s9_simh_gw_p267_d0_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1PG1JRH9M5Q91PPZKB39&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1630083502&pf_rd_i=507846 or http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058MJX4O/ref=s9_simh_gw_p267_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1PG1JRH9M5Q91PPZKB39&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1630083502&pf_rd_i=507846
  13. Well the only Zalman I could find in Amazon was about 30$ and the sony was 25$ for the ecm cs3 and 33$ for the ecm cs10, i would love to know which sounds better. (i THIIIINK Sony could sound better because of the stereo)
  14. Anyone heard of the SOny ecm cs3?? http://www.amazon.com/Sony-ECMCS3-Omnidirectional-Stereo-Microphone/dp/B0058MJX4O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=26L4T53OA82FQ&coliid=I339OO06SHAL4Z probably another option, there is a sony ecm cs10 as well, have no idea how are they against the zalman, i'm looking to buy one of these but have no idea which one.
  15. Well now that you mention it i didn't notice anything special on surround while skyping, sound was very neutral actually, there was no "surround" effect I could notice, although that could probably be because I was to busy paying attention to the game . But nothing special (bad or good) that I could remember.
  16. Sure well to begin I have no amp or sound card so I know I'm under powering my hd650´s, having that said at the time of playing games like Battlefield 3 where sometimes listening to footsteps can make a difference the Trittons shine a little bit better, the fact of them being analog 5.1 is just really not important (I don't feel the difference with standard stereo to that, prob just marketing) , they are really bass oriented so explosions and gun shots are very immersive, when talking about real stuff like listening to music, there is a huge difference, sure the gaming headset can do the job, its fun and has a lot of bass, but its just plain music with a lot of base, when you listen to music with a GOOD pair of headphones like the hd650 even with no amp the difference is CLEAR, much more oriented to bring out every instrument, they "give live" to music, I use Foobar2000 to play FLAC (recommend Melody Gardot, jazz singer WOW) files and you can see where the Senns can just make you fall in love with the range of sounds and the gentleness it delivers them to you, unlike the simple BOOM of the gaming headset. If i had to compare them to cars i would say the headset is a regular car that is effective while taking you places, and the good pair of headphones is a Bentley where you can drive softly and comfortably. Hove i cleared the doubt
  17. I do use the mic a lot, but i thought of buying a Zalman mic the one everyone use so i wasn't worried about that part, but thanks a lot for your opinion!
  18. Im clearly a noob in this subject since i don't know the O2 and ODAC (i think ive seen it) Sure will love too! I will immediately!
  19. Hmmm was not aware good to know , if that's the case ill probably end up using them for gaming/music then , all I need is an amp solution
  20. Well I'm aware that my 650's are my best solution to go but i'm afraid that using them every day (i spend most of my time studying/gaming with headphones on) will decrease their "life expectancy" dramatically, i take good care of my headphones so i know i wont be throwing them around, the only reason the Trittons broke was because the wire always tangled on itself and had to untangle it all the time, which probably was the reason why the cable broke. So that is why i wanted a pair of headphones that i could use every day without the fear of them braking one day, that's why i was considering downgrading to the HD598's, but if my absolute best solution is to buy the amp for my 650's I guess that will be what ill end up doing. In which case i have no idea what amp to get. EDIT: also an internal sound card is not an option since i have no space because of the SLI.
  21. This is regarding audio for gaming. I currently don´t have a dedicated sound card or any kind of amp and the headset I'm using to play games is my Tritton PC510HDa USB Powered 5.1 (analog) which has been my mainly used headset, its now very visible that due to the use, the insides of the cables are getting messed up, i can hear the static when I move the cable so i know that they must be broken somewhere, so I wanted to take this opportunity to change my headset (used mainly for gaming), I already own the Sennheiser HD555 and the Sennheiser HD650, the 555are somewhat old and i don't wanna use them so much i could en up breaking them, the 650's are almost new I ONLY use them for music ( i know i need an amp for them) and don't want to make them my everyday headphones/set. I looked for information everywhere and came to the conclusion that most people are probably right when they say that headsets are not as good sounding for their price so I thought of getting another pair of headphones (Sennheiser HD598) to replace my old trittons, but i also knew that I would need a good amp to drive them for my games (mainly fps footsteps are important) and might as well use it for my HD650's, I'm still trying to decide which is a better decision regarding the amps, whether using a combination of Fiio e17 + e09k (250$) OR buying a Nuforce ICON-DAC (300$). SO to sum it all up, should I stick to the amp+hd598's(even if i already have the HD650´s and would be a downgrade since i don't wanna use the 650´s all the time for gaming) , should I just get a mainstream headset like the astro A40 and avoid all the confusion knowing that I already own a better pair of headphones than the HD598, I'm also considering the Sennheiser PC363D's... EDIT: also since this setup is almost mainly for gaming are those headphones ok? Or should I consider different headphones/set, if so is the amp REAAAAALLY necessary for gaming or with just a pair of Senn HD598's is better/fine?
