  1. Yikes, that's gonna take a while to test since it only has like a 50/50 chance of it happening. I'll try it out tho.
  2. I've got two monitors in the setup: Samsung 24CFG70 on Displayport->PC ViewSonic VA703b on VGA->HDMI Adapter->PC It started a while ago about two years after I got the Samsung monitor after some windows update. About 50-60% of the time, the Samsung monitor won't get detect or is only half detected on startup from both sleep and cold. On the initial push of the power button, the monitor does wake, but then searches through the inputs before going into standby mode again. The ViewSonic monitor always gets detected. What I mean by half detected is that w hile the monitor wakes, loop through the inputs, and even after the monitor goes back to sleep is that the view sonic monitor turns on and shows a black screen as if everything is working fine in extended desktop mode. It's at the login screen at this point. Of course, the login screen is outputting onto the half detected samsung monitor so I have to blindly put in my pass code. After it logs in, the ViewSonic monitor flickers and then goes into single display mode. If I don't log in and just press the power button on my monitor before to wake it up and it starts looking through inputs again, it also does this. I spammed the detect display button in the settings after logging in while it's like this and nothing is detected. I've tried reinstalling/updating drivers, reseting the graphics card, using a different pcie slot, changing the displayport cable, and still happening and seems to be getting more frequent but that might just be my luck with the 50/50. My build: MSI Z170A Gaming M7 I7-6700K EVGA GTX970 FTW+ 16Gb DDR4-3200 Gskill Trident Z 2TB Hybrid Drive 128GB Sata SSD
  3. Update: Didn't work out. The "DECA" adapters do interfere with the internet line running to the modem. I noticed a major drop in my internet speed after connecting the DECA adapter to the splitter on the modem side. I hadn't connected anything else yet. All I did was add that splitter in-between the coax running from the wall to my internet modem, everything was good at this point. The moment I connected the DECA adapter to the other coax port on the splitter, my internet dropped from ~198 Mbps down to ~48Mbps. Not sure if legitimate MOCA adapters would work any different but in this case, it might just be cheaper to run a second coax line from the cable box outside to the room with my router. Should be relatively easy. I've got all the holes, just need throw the cable from the attic down a "tube" with all the other cables according to some YouTube videos. Thanks everyone for all the help. Conclusion: Run internet line to modem and MOCA/DECA line on SEPARATE coax runs.
  4. Lol, so I can basically screw with the neighborhood just by removing the filter. Thanks. ?
  5. That's ok, the whole reason for this project is cus we recently got rid of that skank dish network so the coax lines in the house are just sitting unused. I thought I might put it to good use. So basically if I put a MoCA filter on the coax line coming from the ground it all should work out? Should I also put a second filter at the point when it connects to the modem?
  6. Don't need judgement, just need to know if this is possible: I got these DECA adapters which are literally directv proprietary MoCA knockoffs. I've got a single coaxial line into my office which happens to be taken up by the Cox modem. I want to have a MoCA line to an access point in a different room. I want to know if it is possible to have both the Cox line to the modem and a MoCA line on the same coax cable using a set of splitters.
  7. Is there any service out there that makes custom docks and/or dongles like choose what ports you get on your dock/dongle and order it like a Subway sandwich or choose the customization when you order a PC but it's a laptop dock/dongle or maybe even some schematics so I could at least build my own(yes I do have some small electrical engineering experience). I looked everywhere. The ones I found were like super expensive and had a bunch of extra stuff like SD card readers. I'm trying to get a USB-C dock with these ports: 1-2 HDMI 1-2 USB 3.0 or above 1-2 Type-C(at least one with charging pass-through) Ethernet The cheaper the better.
  8. Yeah I tried them out for a couple weeks and I found that usually when I'm playing music or watching videos or something, Atmos is the way to go, but if I'm playing Rainbow Six: Siege, Windows Sonic gives the best results. I've also found, and this was when I first started using Windows Sonic while I play R6:Seige, it is more of an "experience". I almost got a freaking heart attack. Basically it went down like this: It was absolutely silent. No one shooting or anything. Everybody was being super careful and quietly sneaking around. Right as I'm about to turn a corner and go through this doorway, so apparently there was also a Jäger on the other side of the wall sneaking to that same doorway that I was headed towards. We both abruptly ran into each other like right in each other's faces as we both took a hard turn into the same doorway. Normally it wouldn't be that scary, but with Windows Sonic on it was a major jump scare since the sound of the immediate encounter and the gunshots were amplified and kinda echoed in the virtual surround.
  9. Anybody know if there are any reviews or comparisons out there for the options in that new Windows Creator's update feature, that one in the sound settings called "Spatial sound"? Like a comparison or review for the three options: None(as in no spatial surround, the setting is turned off) Windows Sonic Dolby Headphones I tried out all three to see if I can hear any difference. I kinda heard some fuzziness or warbling or something with the music I was playing with the Windows sonic but I don't know it sounded alright with one of those surround test videos on YouTube. I tried them out wearing my Harmon-Kardon IENC's. Also it might be nice to mention I have Nahimic 2 running in the backgound.
