  1. well, being a developer myself I can say that first thing you need is solid html, css and JS skills to create the UI on that you might require a scripting and backend like JS, PHP, python, Java, etc last you need to create a DB. you can use either of these: mysql or PGSql if you want to make things more fancy, and scale the platform you may use redis to cache your DB query and results, mongoDB or other no-sql platforms backend caching or running as back-up while your original DB is under maintainance. later you need a server to run the site on. I recommend Digital Ocean / AWS / Google cloud for VPS solution. but please go with a reliable VPS solution. Some other basic stuff to handle VPS would be : 1. should know how to operate on bash shell and linux 2. installing packages (its quite simple these days) 3. install configure your apache/nginx server 4. installing DB engine 5. installing backend services like PHP/Python/Ruby .. (depends on what you are using)
  2. well, that shows a lot of checks! give me some time... I've done re seated the ram and checked that the psu works with card on another mobo... seems like motherboard is the one causing trouble!
  3. nope, but do you think I'll need more than 600 w for such hardware?
  4. hi, I got the following config : c2d e6750 g41 mobo (from lords electronic) 4gb ddr3 250 gb hdd xfx radeon HD 6950 1gb corsair gs 600 psu my gpu works fine before I install drivers but after I install them, the monitor starts having flashing some colorful dots, and sleeping thereafter waking up again and repeating the same thing.. I tested the gpu on my friend's pc (i5 4xxx, 8gb, 1tb, 750w) and it's working fine, also tried some games but looks perfectly ok.. the cpu is old, can that be a reason? coz my psu is working ok I suppose... (note: I asked this question earlier but thread got old and this time I tested my gpu on my friend's pc)
  5. I just installed my xfx radeon 6950 (1gb) in a new computer (pretty outdated) with following configuration: 4gb ddr ram, g41 motherboard, core2duo 6750 2.6ghz, and a decent corsair gs 600 PSU now when I update the display driver software, the screen starts the generating random colour pixels in the bottom and then sometimes there is a black square on the top left of the display. after that the display restarts and the same phenomenon repeats... I tried to boot into safe mode and tried to access catalyst and it said "no amd device found or drivers are not functional", when I try to re-install drivers I see a error code 43! I am not sure whats happening here, but does not seem like graphic card is dead as the display works properly before I install any sought of drivers please help, thanks
  6. hehe.. just ordered a Silverstone 600w before a few minutes, it costed me little extra but I hope this works for next 4-5 years
  7. antec vp500w... I also saw corsair vs 650 (but doesn't seem reliable) and a cooler Master B600.. which is good among them?
  8. I just found an antec 500w PSU, can it be right for my PC? config: i7 2nd gen, 8 GB RAM XFX HD 6950 1GB GPU 2 x 80mm fans in the case, and a samsung 21' full HD monitor (I do think it needs some more juice, but that's my pocket limit as PSUs in India are very costly) if you got any other PSUs, please refer it to me
  9. I loved this PSU!! are you sure it cannot be repaired, even if I had to pay for it
  10. well, i think i cannot return it, apart from that, i don't think warranty covers any physical damage
  11. I have a PSU that worked perfectly, before my brother sent it through courier and I suppose a person dropped it hard (really hard) AND when it reached me, it was not turning on! The PSU is corsair GS600 and it has costed me a fortune! Is this repairable (and is out of warranty)? and please try not to suggest buying a new PSU as I can't afford to have one right now until it's the only resort..
