  1. @shaz2sxy I was getting a little concerned about your final push. Glad to see you didn't quite get me. 19th place has been pretty comfortable for me after the first week or so.
  2. Don't you think it would be hilarious if you came in 5th but were disqualified because you managed all that in only 19 days and not 20? I'd giggle.
  3. Wow, iCUE is hot garbage. I still use it because tK70 LUX, but really? It's buggy as hell and a giant resource hog. Cooler Masters software isn't any worse. So take that for what it's worth.
  4. You can buy Dell XPS laptop and others preinstalled with Ubuntu here.
  5. I think this is likely not much more than an SD card with a SATA adapter in a pretty case. I also think you wasted 7,98€ if you think this is going to be an faster than spinning rust.
  6. I heard there was a ritual that could be performed only during the night of the Winter Solstice. Something about candles made with the blood of Steve Jobs? I don't know all the details.
  7. They say 2000Mbps but what they really mean is 2x 1000Mbps. Marketing wank. As far as reliability goes it's been FAR more reliable than my cable internet connection. I can't think of a single dropped or slow connection I can attribute to the powerline adapter over the last three years I've used it. I think they get a bad rap because people buy the cheapest ones they can find and then complain when it isn't perfect. I have no experience with Ethernet over Coax and really no interest in going down that rabbit hole. Maybe you can use the extra coax cable as a pull string to pull a new shiny ethernet cable through? As long as it isn't fastened to studs and what not. Good luck on that front.
  8. How far away is the room? Modern AC wifi is more than fast enough as long as you're in range. Also, have you considered a PowerLine Adapter? I've been using the TP-Link AV2000 Powerline Adapter for years without issue now.
  9. You shouldn'tTM have any issues. But it is Windows we're talking about here. I'd backup any files that are important separate from a full drive backup. That way if the transition isn't as smooth as you'd like you can always fall back on a fresh install without losing anything important. Getting files off a drive image can be a royal pain. Edit: I have two of those Adata drives in RAID 0 and when doing a sequential read test I can damn near saturate the 8x PCIE 3.0 lanes. It's so stupid fast.
  10. HOLY GIANT WALL OF TEXT BATMAN! Windows 10 is actually fairly good at sorting out a change in hardware, including your motherboard. That being said it's not great at cleaning itself up afterward. You might consider reinstalling Windows 10 from scratch. Just back up your important files first. If you do want to just move everything to the SSD then I have Acronis in the past with great success. It even does a good job with changing drive sizes. I don't think you'll gain much from Optane on mass storage but it's your headache. I would also recommend getting an NVME SSD instead of SATA. It's just so much faster. The ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB drive is just as fast as the Samsung 970 Evo for basically the same price as your sata drive.
  11. Unable to compute. Please reassess query.
  12. I am so sorry to be the one to tell you this. It's probably fu**ed. Without seeing exactly what got wet I can't really help you further. Likely you already have corrosion, shorted traces, damaged components, possibly more. Unless you know someone that does board level diagnostics and repair I'd say start saving for a new system. And if any water got in that PSU you might as well toss that too. It may be putting out power but the voltages may be off or may not be able to be maintained due to damaged ICs or other components. I've seen bad PSUs ruin other components.
  13. Ahh, missed that. Guess you're stuck paying Mouser or the like.
  14. Alibaba has them for $3 a piece. $1.70 if you buy more 10 or more. Shipping time isn't great I'm sure, how soon do you need them?
  15. It's not so much the cost of staying there as it is the $3000+ travel costs to get there.
  16. I'd stick with the Samsung Evo Plus or the Samsung Evo Select (Amazon exclusive but similar to Plus). The Pro series is faster but not noticeably so in most situations and probably not worth the extra money. Sandisk Extreme is another good option if you can find it cheaper than Samsung Evo. I've had good luck with both on my Rpi 3 and 4. On an unrelated note, I really hope to take my GF to Prague one of these years. Beautiful city. Holiday in Europe isn't cheap for us 'mericans though.
  17. Upgrading your MB will not get you any performance increase. Unless there are features you are wanting there really isn't any need. You should be able to upgrade your CPU on that MB when you feel you need more speed/cores.
  18. Exactly what speakers you have would help someone recommend you something. Though judging from your post I'm guessing these are all un-powered surround sound speakers? You only option is probably going to be a standard receiver. Are you looking for surround or just stereo? How many channels?
  19. If you're willing to forgo the media keys... Filco Majestouch Convertible 2 TKL (Cherry MX Brown) iKBC CD87BT Wired + Wireless 2 in 1 Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Clear Switch (Clear switches are nice if you like browns) (has alternate media keys with FN) Varmilo VB87M White LED TKL Laser Etched PBT Mechanical Keyboard (Brown is available, also FN media keys)
  20. There's some other good ones out there. But Logitech is pretty much the leader here.
  21. TKL, Brown, Wireless....all easy. Media keys? They are left off TKL because most people like having a smaller keyboard.
  22. They have a 5 year warranty and will probably last longer than that. I would recommend replacing it before your warranty runs out though. Just in case.
  23. There has to be a better way to coordinate this for next years event. It is a bit too convoluted. Especially for new Folders that are already having to deal with setting up their clients. @GOTSpectrum. @jakkuh_t Any ideas how we can simplify the sign up for next year? Collaborate on a single form at least?
  24. You've gotta pay extra for the Express shipping option. Of course nowadays even the 3-4 days of normal shipping seems like forever. Amazon Prime has spoiled me for life.
  25. Cheaper on eBay without the 3 week "slow boat from China" shipping.
