    Welp.

Nothing a bit of .444 Marlin can't fix.

Traps and neck give it away. That doesn't really happen naturally, even if you have top tier genetics.

Nothing forced about it. You can talk about it all you want, we just don't like it when you do and will enact our vendettas, unleashing years of pent up grudges.

Looks exactly like my first AR-15, mine was a $600 rifle from PSA. Solid place to start.

Mine is kitted out with a 1x red dot sight, a sling, and a light. I also swapped the Magpul MOE stock for the Magpul CTR stock, which has a friction lock to prevent the wobble that the MOE stock has. My new rifle will live as more of a general purpose rifle, so that's getting a 1x prism optic with a magnifier. The mission dictates the gear, never forget that.

I buy Magpul PMAGs for $8-9 a pop, and keep a pretty steady stockpile of PMC X-Tac 5.56 M193 to keep them fed. For ammo, I would probably say buy whatever's cheap, but use discretion. Worth mentioning that my PSA rifle doesn't love steel cased ammo, and I've found 1 out of every 100 steel case rounds will fail to extract. Never had an issue with brass .223 or 5.56, though.

Had a new/old rifle follow me home from Cabelas the other day.  Got a second Stevens model 70 Visible Loader.  The new one has the more rare octagon barrel and has the flip up peep sight.  Can't wait to get it to the range and see if it helps with lobbing CB shorts out to 100 yards.  🙂

2920x seems like a odd pick to me. Pretty low core count, low IPC and clock speed compared to newer chips and you don't seem to be using the extra PCIe and ram the chip has. Something like a 5900x/7900x would be much faster and a simmilar price here. And the newer chips should use much less power too, and no numa issues. If you want a lot of ram capacity, I'd go with something like epyc or xeon scalable as they support much more ram than threadripper, and are likely cheaper now too.

I'd get a newer platform for the CPU + mobo here, and otherwise looks fine.

DO you have the 960 evo already? Otherwise its a old drive and I wouldn't buy it new today. Same with the PSU. Thats a lot for a 500w PSU, and I'd go cheaper and non -fanless here.

I'd be tempted to get a premade/used server for rackmount uses.

I only buy bulk(typically 1000 at a time for 5.56/.223 unless I'm buying some expensive stuff), so $100 for shipping is a bit steep for me.

I don't get worked up over CPR, I just buy what I buy when I buy it. Sure it would be nice to not have to pay as much, but when I only buy a case of 5.56 every 4-6 months, it's much easier on the defense budget even if I do pay $0.45/round.

QD sockets are nice 😄 I recently added one to my hunting rifle's sling in the forward position to allow me to break free from it when slung across my back during hikes. They make sling stud to QD socket adapters which is nice. If I had to choose though, a forward QD is preferred over a rear QD.

I've had good luck with Southern Defense, being one of the sellers on Ammoseek. Sometimes I haven't received shipping notification from them, but the package showed up like 3 days after placing the order anyways, noting that they're a solid 1000mi from my location.

Anyone buying from Ammoseek just has to realize that most sellers will get the lowest $/round because they exclude fees like shipping/handling/taxes. Generally when using that site, buying in bulk of +500 rounds is best for that reason. Spending $100 on shipping isn't as painful if you're doing it for 2000 rounds versus 200.

Not worth spending money on something that is effectively a sidegrade. Unless you specifically want DLSS (forget about RT on such a low end card, it's too slow for practical use)

Crunchy Dragon reacted to Middcore in what gpu is the equivalent of a double 1080ti set up
I mean, it's difficult to say what GPU is equivalent to SLI 1080 ti's, because SLI scaling was always highly variable from game to game, and it just plain doesn't work at all in most games now and isn't going to work in any future ones.

The 3080 ti and 6950 XT are about 200% of the performance of a single 1080 ti according to TechPowerUp's relative averages. Of course, SLI 1080 ti's would never give you twice the performance of a single 1080 ti even in games where SLI worked.

SLI 1080 ti's is totally pointless for gaming now. If you have such a setup and want to upgrade, you should basically be comparing the performance of new cards to a single 1080 ti, because the performance of a single 1080 ti is all you're ever going to get. My personal rule of thumb is that a new card needs to be at last 30-40% stronger than the old one for the upgrade to be worthwhile.
