  1. If the mining card was taken care of, it'll generally be fine.
  2. Oh, hey. This thread has been reinstated, however there will be some actual guidelines being implemented in the future.
  3. Time to change all my framerate caps in all my games. Greetings from 165Hz!

  4. The answer depends on how technical you want to be. In general: no, a 6800XT will not bottleneck a Ryzen 7 7900X. A 6950XT will also not bottleneck a Ryzen 7 7900X. The technical answer: a "GPU bottleneck" in the sense most people use the term does not really exist. You want your CPU and GPU to both be capable of reaching 100% usage with no performance loss. This means there are no bottlenecks in your system, and nothing is waiting for anything else. A GPU can hold a system back, but that's typically only in scenarios where the GPU is not up to the task the user is requiring of it, which is not technically a bottleneck, it's just a poor hardware configuration. An example could be playing AAA games on a GT 730. It just won't happen, because the GT 730 is too weak to do it. The only way to clear a GPU bottleneck is to buy a better GPU. You want the GPU to be the limiting factor in your system(or in other words, the best performing part). This just means your system will allow your GPU to reach 100% usage before hitting a performance cap. This is ideal.
  5. This will only be possible if your laptop has slotted, not soldered, RAM. If the RAM is in a slot, akin to a desktop, then you can swap RAM in and out to your heart's desire. If your RAM is soldered, such as in a MacBook or other thin laptops, you're basically out of luck.
  6. Nah, during and post ban are fully metal lined. The pre bans are not.
  7. I only have old ones, so pre-ban, during ban, and post-ban. The during and post-ban mags I own are the better ones.
  8. Yeah, it'll still take newer Glock 22 mags. I forget just how many parts are interchangeable between the G17 and G22, but they're built on the same frame, so a good number are. From what I remember, magazines unfortunately are not interchangeable, and most of the slide/barrel/firing pin stuff is not. I would like to get some steel magazines for my Glock though. The full polymer ones tend to bow out a little bit on the sides, so they take a bit lot more work to fully seat in the gun. There are some that are partially metal lined and those are a bit better, but the fully metal lined work the most consistently in addition to being free-falling.
  9. It's a Gen 2, so it's up there in age. I think I paid around $300 for the gun, five or six 15 round magazines, and the Tupperware-esque Glock case with a cleaning kit. Fun fact, because it's so old, I have 15 round Glock mags from before, during, and after the Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.
  10. A lot of people would be surprised and disappointed by how little police train with their firearms, on average. My Glock 22 was once a service pistol carried by a LEO, and I'm pretty sure I put more rounds through it in 2 hours than it had seen in the past 30 years.
  11. Mine is DI, yep. Chambered in 5.56. PSA rifles have a track record of not loving steel case ammo, I most commonly hear it's an issue with the extractor spring. Oooof, 10 rounds hurts. KEKW Very good information, thank you! I've heard DA/SA hammer fired guns are kind of the meta in production right now, but yeah G17 is what I had my eye on. I very much don't expect to do well my first time, I've never fired a pistol particularly fast and I don't have an extremely good track record of accuracy, so I'll want some more trigger time before I step into it. Steel Challenge also caught my eye a couple times, but I figured I'd start with USPSA and maybe hop into IDPA in the future.
  12. I don't think my hands are rough, but I don't wear gloves as much as you so they might be rougher than yours. My AR was the first gun I bought. Kitted it for home defense, then started buying handguns. The only problem I've had so far is that 1/100 steel cased rounds will fail to eject. Brass .223 and 5.56 work with no issues though. That's rough, what were you limited to?
  13. Looks like an SC: https://www.evga.com/Products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-2062-KR Not sure why the model number is different, though.
  14. I don't like the texture of the Gen 2 grip a whole lot. What I love about the Hellcat so dang much is how it "molds" itself to my hand, the G22 bites into my hand more. I'm with you on this 100%. Most of my handgun trigger time is on a Glock, it's kinda whatever to me; Glock mostly captures my interest in the design aspect, in how it's been a great pistol from the start. I find that pretty fascinating. I get it. Glocks are everywhere, they're like Remington 870s and AR-15s in that regard. Although, the AR-15 being popular was one of the selling points that made me buy one. Buddy of mine has an M&P that I considered, but it fell into the same "problem" your Walther does for me: why have a gun that small with only 8+1 capacity when the Hellcat exists? It feels great to shoot, don't get me wrong, but when I can have much better capacity in a near-identical size, I'd rather have the capacity.

Hey buddy - haven't seen you around in a while.…

  16. That's kinda crazy. Universal Serial Bus is not any specific device. If you're learning anything in technology, it should be taught without using layman's terms so people actually know what they're learning and what they're talking about, then be able to translate the technical to the layman in a way that is understandable and not condescending.
  17. It's entirely possible that Superposition is reporting information incorrectly. Even Cinebench does not properly record my CPU speed when I run it, but Task Manager will report the correct numbers most of the time.

  19. Universal Serial Bus(USB) is a protocol, not a device. It's like PCIe, you can connect a multitude of devices to it, including forms of solid state drives(such as USB drives). USB is just a protocol that devices use to communicate. If you answered "True" to this question, then yes, your answer was incorrect. Solid state devices store data in memory chips, similar to how RAM or SD cards work. DRAM modules and SD cards are slightly different, but very similar to standard SSDs. USB flash drives are basically tiny SSDs that communicate via the Universal Serial Bus as opposed to SATA, PCIe, or NVMe. If you answered anything other than "memory chips", your answer was incorrect. CDs and DVDs are optical media, tape drives are magnetic, "solid objects" and "moving parts" are misdirections.
  20. If I ever delid and repaste my 7820X(Skylake-X was somewhat notorious for having terrible TIM and producing a lot of heat), I'll probably go for liquid metal or Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut just to have something a little better under there. But yeah, I've been using Arctic Silver 5 for about 10 years. Used it on nearly every CPU and GPU I've owned, including some of the pretty fun old stuff. My Athlon MPs and Athlon 64 both saw AS5 while I was messing with them.
  21. I still buy Arctic Silver 5 for my thermal compound.
  22. I just upgraded to a 2070 Super a few months ago, but I totally would have bought a 4070 if EVGA was bringing one to the table.
  23. Yeah, these mags literally cost around $30. So I was pretty stoked to find that while digging through the packaging. I will probably never buy a 2011, no matter how many times I rewatch John Wick, although it does seem like it'd be an amazing competition gun. I'm not a huge fan of the Gen 2 Glock grip, but the Gen 4 and Gen 5 seem a lot nicer. I don't hate my G22 grip, it does work pretty well, I just don't find it as comfortable as my Hellcat. The main reason I was thinking of a G17 is that it's the same frame as the G22(fun fact), so it would already be a platform I'm somewhat familiar with, just more modern. This is partly why I went Hellcat I totally get it. Way I see it, if I can conceal a Hellcat Pro, I'd pretty much just be sacrificing 2 rounds to carry the Kitted Kitten(this is what I'm calling it now) and it would be a more consistent shooting experience - red dot for faster target acquisition, comp for easier recoil control - why the heck not? I definitely haven't ruled out having multiple carry setups either. Glock honestly amazes me a little bit. It's a little mindblowing that Glock rolled up in the 1980s with a superior pistol design that just has not changed much in the past 40 years. Say what you will about Glocks but, in my mind, the fact that they've been so prevalent for 40 years does speak for itself.
