Formatting my USB drive to prepare for a Linux install on the G5.

    Also, are you sure the G5 supports USB booting? I thought it had to be optical?

    G5 does not boot from USB.

     

    I don't have an ODD available, so I'm gonna install Linux on a hard drive and then the plan is to install the hard drive in the G5. If that doesn't work, I can see about trying to make a bootable CD or something.

    @Crunchy Dragon that's not gonna work. unless you have a machine with a powerpc cpu in it to do the initial install.....
