It'll turn on and chime, then not display anything(PPC boot process takes a while, I hear). After a bit, the fans will ramp up and it'll eventually shut down.
No video throughout the whole process.
I moved the RAM around, tried without an HDD, ODD, and even GPU. Nothing yielded any results.
I haven't found anything stating a requirement for ECC to boot; @firelighter487's G5 runs without ECC.

@CUDAcores89 yeah i suggested a bunch of stuff (crunchy and i talked on discord) but i think it's hopeless.
G5's have a common problem with the solder joints that attach the ram slots to the board, which can make it so that ram doesn't detect correctly. i think that's the case here. mine has that issue too, but less severe than this one. with mine it sometimes just doesn't detect 2gb of ram, and will report 2gb of ram to be installed even though it has 4gb in it. the fix with mine usually is to reseat it a few times and then it will detect it again.
this didn't fix crunchy's G5 though. we also tried things like different (known good) ram, and removing/unplugging everything that's not required like cd drive and gpu. i know the gpu is neccesary but i wanted to know if it would shut down without it, and it did. so the gpu isn't the problem.
when crunchy tried to put the ram into different slots, so not the primary slots the power led would flash twice, meaning no memory detected. it doesn't do this ith the ram in the primary slots, but it might not even try to boot without ram in the primary slots meaning it won't try to boot and mess up...

@CUDAcores89 Mac's aren't weak per-se, but G5's in general are known for weird ram issues. this one happens to have them.

Wouldn't surprise me @CUDAcores89.
I don't have the type of battery it needs for the CMOS, it's not your standard button cell for some reason.
I tried basically everything I could without swapping parts such as the motherboard, no dice.
