I recently took delivery of a(new to me) old laptop.

It's an HP Pavilion G7 featuring an AMD Phenom II P650, Radeon HD 4250, 4GB of DDR3, and a 320GB HDD.

Runs Windows 7 just fine I'd imagine, if I could get past the password on it.

What I'll most likely end up doing is popping the HDD into one of my other systems and finding some way to remove the password(I'd like to keep the Win7 installation if at all possible). I'll also have to do a fair bit of cleaning on it, as there are a bunch of stickers on the lid, lots of dust on the laptop itself(I got most of the dust out of the internals as I went through my routing teardown), and some general cleaning up.

The USB ports seem to be completely dead as well, and the trackpad isn't very pleasant either.

I'll probably mess around with it some more this week, expect more updates.

Who knows, I might even start my own budget builds channel at some point in the future with all old hardware that comes into my possession...

Hiren'sBootCD will reset the password pretty easily. You don't have to do anything invasive...though you WILL need a working USB port. Or if you're still into burning CDs that's an option.
