So far my Mac hunt is not going well. People charge way too much for the Apple logo, I'm tellin' ya...

Found a 2012 Mac Pro(which is actually the kind that I'd want if I was going the Mac Pro route) for $1100.

Running dual hexacore Xeons, a Radeon HD 7950 3Gb, 24Gb DDR3 memory(expandable to 128Gb).

Essentially, the hardware here isn't really worth more than ~$600. Not sure if the seller knows that, but either way I wouldn't pay more than maybe $700 for a 6 year old computer, even if it does have Apple branding.

Apple branding probably costs $500 anyways...

@techstorm970 thanks a lot, I'll definitely look around there.

Now it's only a matter of affording said Mac...

You also have the people who charge a fortune for Apple hardware that's straight up broken. I've seen someone try to sell one of those plastic Unibody MacBooks for 250 bucks. Nicotine stained, missing keys and corners, seriously?

Macs really arent worth the money unless you are a hardcore apple fan or if, like most, would benefit from the amazing optimization of Final Cut Pro/X
