Got an iMac lined up for me, gonna be fun playing around with that.

The person who's giving it to me says it's 10 years old, so I'm expecting a Core 2 Duo of some kind. Going by being ~10 years old, that would place it as a Socket P or a generation older CPU.

Tmw you start planning upgrades for a machine you don't even have yet...

@Legendarypoet: YOU WERE ONLY SUPPOSED TO BLOW THE BLOODY DOORS OFF

@Energycore: Sorry, do you know me? I just gutted and rebuilt my retro gaming system, of course I'd upgrade a system that's 10 years old.

Younger = higher fitness level, faster reflexes, usually higher overall strength.

Older = more wise, dentures, and one heck of a walking stick.

@Crunchy Dragon What plans do you have for the imac?

@Legendarypoet Slowmo ricochets are awesome. Also if we're talking age, my birth date is in 1870 so don't mess with me.

Not for vampires, vampires don't age and only get stronger :P

@Energycore going to use it for OSX-exclusive software, since it's apparently illegal to run that kind of stuff on anything non-Mac.

Hopefully it's up to the task, I have a feeling it should be once I stick a Core 2 Quad in there, upgrade the memory, and probably hard drive as well.

I remember using those things back in elementary school. Booted up from cold in like 10 seconds, it was amazing. Though that was back when Tiger was preloaded, doubt it'll do that with the latest OS it can run.
