Hitting Micro Center tomorrow for the rest of my PC! Going to make a full post in Build Logs as well, rather than update the one I currently have there.

What is going to be in it?

Getting a Ryzen 5 1600 and ASRock AB350-Pro4. Also grabbing some blue LED intake fans since I currently have none. Might get some red LED exhaust fans too.

I would like to get red led fans, I have blue ones but they don't match my build as everything else is black and red

@CUDA_Cores don't be givin away my location omg.

@CUDA_Cores ok fair point, but no need to go shouting it all across the forums xD

At least you get a microcenter, I don't have one near me

@WhisperingKnickers Yeah, I can't imagine life without one tbh. Ordering online and all that is fine but nothing beats Micro Center.

I have never even been to one but I have heard good things. Ebay is my friend though and the source of a good chunk of my pc, as well as the classifieds here on the forum

    You gotta do it bro

@CUDA_Cores really? I wasn't aware you needed another functional computer to build one. I haven't for some time as ever since my first build I've always had a bootable Linux drive to use

  12. NoxiousOdor

    NoxiousOdor

Well I mean Linus almost took a helicopter to do that in scrapyard wars

It's Linus, what did we expect?

@CUDA_Cores It is probably good that I don't have the resources Linus does, I spent the last year and a half and almost $1300 building a computer out of dated parts simply because that is what I decided I wanted. I try to be rational but sometimes I make silly choices

Don't get me wrong, I love my computer, but it was not the best use of my resources :/

  16. NoxiousOdor

    NoxiousOdor

Because this computer is already faster than I need it to be and the SR2 is way cooler

Anyone can get an x99 system

@CUDA_Cores It was more that I wanted this computer because I liked it, if I would have bought what I needed I would still be using my amd e-350

  20. NoxiousOdor

    NoxiousOdor

@Crunchy Dragon Well I mean that anyone with $1300 could choose to go x99 over what I did

  21. NoxiousOdor

    NoxiousOdor

It would make more sense for most people

  22. NoxiousOdor

    NoxiousOdor

@CUDA_Cores Oh I plan on keeping good care of it, I just wish I had an io shield. The people I bought it from didn't have one

I have heard rumors that Asus is working on their version of the same thing for modern xeons. If it is true then that will be awesome when it comes out

@CUDA_Cores I am afraid to think how many arms and legs that thing will cost. Knowing me I will wait for it to be a decade old before buying it. Just in time for everyone to forget about it
