  1. Thanks for the replies. I've heard a lot of things about the M1060, from them being on par with the LCD2, to them being complete garbage. I think I'll just listen to you guys. Has anyone listened to the HE400i? Heard they're kind of the planar equivalent to the HD600.
  2. I've had my DT800s for a bit over a week now (bought them new), and the left driver suddenly stopped working. It eventually starts working again after plugging and unplugging the connector a few times, but I'm obviously gonna RMA them. Looked it up online and it seems there's quite a few other Beyers that have had that problem. I Got the DT800s as an upgrade to my HD598s (found out I'm not a big fan of the Sennheiser sound signature), and I was enjoying them, especially for listening to metal, rock and jazz. I know I could just get another pair which hopefully isn't defective, but after what happened, I'm slightly disappointed with Beyer and thought I might try different ones. So far I'm considering the Hifiman HE400i and the Monoprice Monolith M1060. What would you guys recommend?
  3. Jap devs. I'm not surprised, they've never understood PC.
  4. Life Is Feudal seems to be gaining quite a following.
  5. So I'll be barely able to run it with my 8350 and GTX 770, but a console with completely obsolete hardware can do it without problems, and locked at 30 fps? Ubisoft isn't even trying to optimize the port, it's just another big "fuck you" to PC gamers. Not that it matters to me, as I'm not an Assassin's Creed fan and I'm not even planning to get the game; I just hope other companies never try to emulate these fucks.
  6. What Lauen said. It should be enough for your needs. An amp is kinda superflous, but still makes a difference.
  7. I'll wait for non-reference designs to come out. This plus a 21:9 3440x1440 monitor will make a great combo.
  8. HP Pavilion Slimline s7520la Pentium M 1.7Ghz 2Gb DDR2 250Gb HDD Bought it at Sam's Club in late 2006 for like $900. My past rig broke and I got it in a hurry as I needed to finish some college work. I put it through several Windows XP and Ubuntu installs, I frequently hit it in frustration when things got slow and it had to bear the extreme temperatures of my city (40°C in summer) while running the entire day. Stopped using it about 3 years ago; a few months ago I plugged it in to get a couple things out of its HDD and suddenly the onboard graphics died. It had a good run, I have fond memories of it.
  9. A few things: Buying my GTX 770 a month before the price drop Logitech G430 (don't ever buy this headset) Corsair K70 (found out I hate red switches —good design tho, and I'll be getting the RGB with blue switches) Corsair M90 (not a bad mouse, but there are much better options) Sapphire 7870 (had low quality capacitors that made my system crash constantly; couldn't RMA it) Fractal Design R2 fans (got a few of them to match my case, but they're really weak)
  10. 'Cause mine is named Lenore. And I care a lot about her.
  11. Thanks for the info and the replies, guys. Very helpful.
  12. I meant the bass/treble boost and direct selection thingie. The version I got has that plus a stereo line input jack instead of the headphone/speaker button (even though the Amazon product description didn't specify that). I was a bit disappointed to be honest; I'd rather have the headphone/speaker button.
  13. So you would recommend the NAD Viso HP50? How does it compare to the Beyer DT 880 or 990?
  14. Yes, my room becomes warmer when I game, around 3°-5° centigrade. I'm using a GTX 770 and a FX 8350: they're enough to generate that much heat.
