  1. I wouldn't recommend running it off a phone. You can, they will get loud enough, but I would at the very least recommend a basic USB powered unit like the Fulla 2.
  2. They will get loud enough, I wouldn't recommend it though.
  3. I love them with my Asgard 2. Something about that amp brings out a sweetness to the vocal section that I never could get with the O2. Granted, I haven't done a blind test, but the O2 with my 650 just sounds lifeless, my 2000x and my IEMs don't do this, they sound just fine with the O2. Then again what do I know. I listen to trash by most audiopheel standards, #animusongs. Any ideas on what amp you're going to go for?
  4. Being sold individually is more of a sign that the speaker is active rather than passive. Studio monitors, especially higher end ones from the likes of Genelec are almost exclusively sold seperately. Passives are almost never sold individually, there's no reason to when the basic idea is to connect them to a stereo amp or dual monoblocks.
  5. Are those actual tweeters? In a Logitech speaker?
  6. OP already has an audio interface, the monitors are hooked up to them, the buzz is still there with the interface.
  7. Hifiman build quality is legendarily awful, even on their TOTL HE-X's. I would steer clear.
  8. The Fulla would be absolutely fine. But since you seem to be liking the switching sources idea, the Uber stack might be a better idea. I'm OCD and would get the Magni 2U just cause it shares the aluminum chassis, but if you need to save 50 bucks go for the regular 2.
  9. Do you need them to be connected at the same time? Could always go for the Uber stack if you need the connectivity. Otherwise USB should be just fine.
  10. Just get a Micca PB42x. Anything with a sub is just going to have awful satelittes that have no business playing any frequencies above 2khz and below 200hz, and an awful sub that will shake the room but not actually be very nice sounding.
  11. Prolly the only thing the HD6 has got going for it, is that it's the only powered speaker system in this price range that has wireless functionality, a remote control, and Class A/B amplification in this price range. But, this advantage stopped being good a couple weeks ago. I think the Schiit Saga is really gonna churn things up. The most important part is the remote control tbh, I love my remote control on my A5+ and thats honestly one of the reasons that stops me from getting powered monitors. But the Saga costs $350, even if you get a pair of Emotiva Airmotiv 6S's, you would still come out at only $850 total. So not only would you get 2 speakers, both bi-amplified with Class A/B amplifiers and an AMT tweeter, you would ALSO get a passive preamp which can instantly be switched to an active tube preamp. How fucking cool is that, now if only my wallet could support that T_T. Also it's great to have a Schiit product where I don't have to touch that ridiculously hot volume knob to change volume for the pre-outs.
  12. They want gigantic metal bricks on their desk that makes fairy dust come out of their headphones.
  13. A USB source usually is more powerful than an onboard analog out, but a USB source connected to a USB hub cannot draw more power than a standard USB port from your PC, to do so would be illegal and violating the USB standard, and since most USB audio devices are USB2.0, you cannot draw more than 500mA from the hub, inherently limiting the total output of your amplfier. In order to get more power, you have to be plugged into the wall directly. In fact if all you wanted is more power you should buy an amplifier that must be connected to a wall and nothing else (ie a Magni) because by using an USB powered amplifier you are limiting yourself in terms of total output.
  14. Chinese Hi-Fi. SMSL, Fiio, LittleDot fit in this category.
  15. Fulla 2 really eliminates the need to rely on Chi-Fi for a USB powered Amp/DAC combo. Get the Fulla 2 if you need it.
  16. I mean you said it yourself. Glasses prevent a full seal. I'd say the best isolating IEM I know of is the Etymotic ER4, just because they go really deep in the ear. However, any BA driver IEM will isolate well as long it does not have a bass port.
  17. I always find that having in-ears is always a safer choice, since some people can get nauseous from the ANC. IEMs provide more isolation especially if you have glasses. I still wouldn't recommend foam eartips, they change the sound in ways that I don't like, they're also ridiculously expensive for how much you have to replace them. Spin-Fits or JVC Spiral Dots can solve comfort issues if you're having any and while they are still expensive, silicon can last a very long time.
  18. You're better off going to an Apple store and demoing a pair yourself. From what I've heard, it's a very honky headphone, with a very forward mid-bassy sound. IMO that kind of sound is fatiguing. It also has a pretty bad hiss because of the ANC, and you can't use it without battery power, which means theres probably alot of DSP trickery that goes on in the headphone. If you want a fashion headphone that sounds great, I'd suggest looking at the Momentum Wireless, Urbanite Wireless, or Sony MDR-1000x instead.
  19. The Solo 2 and the Solo 3 are identical. The only difference is the W1 chip that allows it to have that neat auto-pair feature with Apple devices that is also on the Airpods. Keep your money, the Solo 2 is just fine.
  20. People can spend their money however they want, just because you don't want to drop money on your audio doesn't mean you should stop someone else from finding it worth the money.
  21. Get the Cloud. It's the best of the bunch. Takstar Pro 80 is no slouch for a <$80 pricepoint.
  22. The price-point sweet spot for the AD-series is the 700x. The 500x shares the same sound signature but the sound is splashy, and separation is not very good. The 900x on the other hand is too similar to the 700x to recommend it over, they still suffer from a diffuse soundstage though it is quite wide. Hence I'd say the 700x is the best value for money when it comes to gaming. The 1000x is the next best step up from the 700x, but because of it's non-angled drivers, more intimate soundstage, and punchier upper bass it's more suited to music than it is to games.
  23. Oh you got the Uber, okay if you already ordered it, it should be fine. You might not like the Vali anyway, better to stick with SS if you like what you have currently.
