  1. i7 3930K. I have a GTX 980. My concern isn't the hackintosh at this point. I just want it to work so I can boot to windows again.
  2. Hello guys, I have a Gigabyte X79S-UP5-Wifi and I have windows 8.1 installed on an SSD. I bought a new HDD to make a hackintosh. I wanted to put OS X on the seperate HDD. I made the boot drive and booted to it. It didn't seem to load at all. I read up on some stuff and some articles said I need to go into BIOS and "Load optimized defaults". Which I did. When I restarted the spash screen shows up and stays for a full minute and then it just goes to a flashing underscore at the top left of the screen. It wont let me into my BIOS at all or do anything. It is stuck. What I have tried: Took out CMOS battery and put back in I shorted the two prongs that say "CLR_CMOS" Remove all devices attached to computer other than keyboard and mouse I still am stuck with the same issue. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this or why loading optimized defaults would do this. Thanks, Alec
  3. all the drivers were 8.1 64 bit drivers
  4. Hey guys, I just recently upgraded from windows 7 to 8 and then 8.1. I am missing this one driver. My USB 3.0 ports in the back currently arent working. I have a Gigabyte X79S-UP5-WiFi Motherboard with a i7 3930K. Here is what I am seeing.http://gyazo.com/53793fb0d207da8c60c11c942f9e42f5 I installed this host driver:http://www.via-labs.com/en/support/downloads.jsp#hostdriver and I also the USB 3.0 driver off of the Gigabyte website:http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4777&dl=1#driver I know it isnt the drive because it works in the 2.0 ports. Any help?
  5. Wow man thanks. Im a little new to partitions and stuff. For my 600GB drive do I just make one large partition and will Windows make its own OS partion? Or will I have to make a likt 20GB partition for the OS?
  6. Could you explain that further? I can't just boot from the CD and follow the steps?
  7. Okay I think I'll just get regular. Will I have any problems putting the OS onto my SAS Drive?
  8. Well I have Windows 7 Home Premium. So should I just get regular?
  9. Also what version of Windows 8 should I buy? Is the pro worth the extra $80?
  10. I have the latest beta drivers and I have a 690 so I'm not looking to upgrade in that sense. So if I switch my OS to my from my 1T 7200 RPM SATA Drive to my 15k RPM SAS 600GB Drive, will I see that much of an improvement in speed? I dont see the sense in getting an SSD when I have a 15K RPM Drive. Are you able to put an operating system on a SAS drive?
  11. Hey guys, I recently started playing the Battlefield 4 Beta. I have a pretty beastly system and it doesn't run very well. I am looking into Windows 8.1 for a performance increase. I am used to Windows 7. I am wondering what version of 8.1 I should get. I also have a 1T HDD I have been using as my OS drive. I have a 15K RPM SAS Drive I use for recording high FPS videos to. Should I use that drive for my OS drive? Would I see that much of an increase in speed? Is installing games on a faster HDD make the game run any faster? Thanks for taking the time to read this. -Alec
