TensorVortex reacted to aisle9 in Any word on when the week of downtime officially ends?
I would assume a week after it was announced.

it's easy to scale down, hard to scale up. But they didn't get here by doing the easy stuff.

TensorVortex reacted to geokilla in Cancel Your Floatplane Subscription. Don't Buy Their Merch.
Since Linus only cares about money, the obvious thing to do is to cancel your Floatplane subscription. Also don't buy their merch. Who in their right mind is going to pay $250 USD or $70 USD for a backpack and screwdriver respectively?

From an optics perspective, does that actually matter though? Specifically when there are no LMG shareholders outside of Linus and Yvonne?

TensorVortex got a reaction from goodtofufriday in Gamers Nexus alleges LMG has insufficient ethics and integrity
In the past 3 years, I have come to LinusTechTips just for the fun and exciting content, not for accuracy.
Before that I was coming here for accuracy, but that was probably a mistake

TensorVortex reacted to Agall in Gamers Nexus alleges LMG has insufficient ethics and integrity
*edit* I actually got to watch the video when I got home, and its pretty rough. I've seen a few inaccuracies in LTT videos the last few months that were small, some GN didn't even show, obvious QA issues, but the kind of errors GN shows go beyond basic QA.
Everyone knows GN's the goat when it comes to actual data, LTT's forte into data is really secondary to the entertainment priority the channel has always had.
GN's accusations are valid here.
*another edit*
The response was well done in my opinion. corporate, but that's probably for the better. We'll see what the results are in their next videos, which'll be a solid week away for good reason.

TensorVortex got a reaction from Juular in [EOL] PSU Tier List rev. 14.8
Just want to inform people, my 4 months old InWin P75 80 plus Gold (LTT tier list A) has stopped working.
I believe issue is the fan.
Symptom is:
Fan will not trigger under high load, PSU overheated itself, it triggered over temp protection I believe, resetted the PSU, boot up again, fan still not working with me applying 500W load to it ( for 5 seconds, this won;'t break the PSU in any cases, but the fan should spin due to the design of this PSU), smell burnt plastic.
I hope this is an isolated case, but seeing this PSU is on clearance for 80 CAD, I wonder if it has some manufacture defect on the fan or other component.

TensorVortex got a reaction from Ben17 in SAMSUNG HAS SPYWARE IN ONE UI & OTHER ANDROID VERSIONS
Well Qihoo 360 has been around for like 20 years in China.
They used to make those computer optimize and clean software, later got into anti-virus and even browser (use Ie core and Chrome core)
They were considered absolutely spyware around 8 years ago, however nobody in China cares. Their software was really good, and literally everyone including their mom install 360 right after windows installation.
Yah i can’t really dig up those infos from decade ago, and I seriously don’t remember the details that people discovered in their 360 software that is concrete proof it is a spyware. If i remember correctly? They upload some zipped file periodically to their server, and someone cracked it open and it contains very sensitive info from ur computer? Even file names in your document folder and such?
yah so... i would avoid it, but we need concrete proof before we accuse a chinese company is spying for the government

TensorVortex reacted to Sequence211 in LTT Official Folding Month 2019!!!
I just made some crude calculations on my power estimate for this event.
I calculated that my total power ussage will end up at about 750KWh !
Translated to gold, that is about $300US. but because i started folding earlier full time in september, the power bill will nearly be $400US. for this folding thing!.
Because i pay my power bill every 3 month, the total powerbill will be higher, i am expecting to have used 1300KWh over the past 3 month which is about $500US, or maybe a little more. Because prices is somewhat difficult to translate to other currencies, i can compare with prices to different graphics cards.
So this event have costed me about one GTX 1660. and including the warmup, about a GTX 1660TI, and the whole three month, it have costed me about an RTX 2060Super....
Time to sell my RTX 2060, i guess.

TensorVortex got a reaction from kirashi in rtx 2060 or rtx 2060 super
2060 is very adequate for 1080p 144hz gaming. I have a 2060 on 1440p 144hz gaync, if u have a freesync monitor it will work too.

no.
rx 550 is quite low power, and also not much overclocking headroom.
