  1. jjohnthedon1, do you own a GTX 1080? I own both a GTX 1080 FE and a GTX 980TI SC. I agree that for raw power now the 980TI SLI wins. However, the GTX 1080 is a faster card. I have to ask why a poster is willing to trade 2 980TIs for a single GTX 1080? I have opted for single high end gpus.
  2. Have them both see my sig below. The GTX 1080 IS faster but the 980TI is also a fast card.
  3. No wonder Nvidia could throw such an expensive bash by releasing a 1080 at $699. UGH!
  4. You can see from my sig I have a 5960x @4.4Ghz and a 4790k @ 4.7Ghz. Hard to tell the difference in most games.
  5. Just picked up a Dell U3415W from Newegg on a great price break ($699). Incredible ultrawide!
  6. So do I Excellent for WC. I 3 480 rads in it!
  7. I like to tinker and custom water cooling, especially for gpus makes a BIG difference in operating temps.
  8. I have the EVGA GTX980TI SC and it is a BRUTE!
  9. Stock clock of 1102 and since it is water cooled with an EK block gpu core is 28C idle and 40 C at max. I have OC'd the core to nearly 1300 without a problem. The temps go up at most 2 C
  10. I have an EVGA GTX980 TI SC with an EK Titan X waterblock and it is EXCELLENT.
  11. Here are the specs of my two gaming rigs: 5960x-4.4|AsusRE5|16g DDR4-2133|EVGA GTX980TI SC-EK Block|2Smsng 850 EVO 500gb ssds Raid0|2Tb WD Blk|Win10-64|PC P&C 1200W|Thrmltake X9|Custom H20 cooling|BenQ BL3200PT 4790k-4.6|AsusMxVIIH|16g DDR3-2133|2Sphr Tri-X R9-290s in CF-EKBlocks|Cru M500-240g ssd:500g WD Blk|Win10-64|PC P&C 950W|HAF932Adv|Custom H20 cooling|Achiva Shimian As you can see, I have a single gtx980ti sc in the 5960x and 2 290s in the 4790k. The 290s are Sapphire Tri-Xs at 1000 core/1300 mem. Your 390 is a bit faster but my observation is the 980Ti is smoother. Even accounting for the cpu difference, the dual 290s are slightly faster in synthetics and in overall fps but the 980ti "feels" smoother. It's a close call.
