  1. For now, the rig is decommissioned. I have a spare B550 Tomahawk motherboard that I need to test, and I'll end up rebuilding the system into another mining chassis with a better suited operating system. However, with the cost of electricity in this country is still rising (United Kingdom), this won't be a priority for now. I may have it built by the next folding month. I certainly would like to see as well, the future of power supplies. For example, PCIe gen 5 connectors and the new ATX standard for 12 volts to the motherboard.
  2. I did recently install a second, 1200 PSU. I used only a single 24 pin extension just to power it on. I'm going to leave the system for a few days, to see how my existing hardware that I pulled out (CPU, Ram, Nvme, 2060) functions, and see if the fault replicates. I do believe the motherboard is dead, as when the fault occurs, Windows doesn't have time to log the blue screen "Critical_Process_Died". As if the Nvme drive was unplugged from its port. This is what leads me to think the PCIe sub system has failed, with an intermittent fault. I have noticed as well, that the ethernet port would randomly drop, and would have to manually replug the cable. This never happened on the Wifi. After a few days, if no faults are present with the current hardware, then I'll have a look at RMA'ing the motherboard.
  3. Update to my rig. I suspect the motherboard is dead. I've managed to record the fault on video. The system never successfully booted. Seen at around 1:46, the BSOD that flashes, is "Critical Process Died". My only diagnosis, is a failure of the PCIe sub system on the motherboard, as Windows is running perfectly fine on the same drive, but on another motherboard. My "New" Personal Rig I had taken out the CPU, Ram and Nvme boot drive, and threw it into a brand new motherboard. It booted first time without issues. No modification or repair was done to the Nvme between the video above, and the installation of the drive on my new motherboard.
  4. The risers are electronically wired as 4x 4x 4x 4x. Meaning, each GPU has 4 CPU lanes. You can run a 3080 on gen 4 with just 4 lanes, as it provides sufficient bandwidth for daily tasks, even Folding at Home (I have not tried my 3080 on these risers). This does require of bifurcation of the primary PCIe port, of which not all motherboards support this feature. I've always had success with MSI motherboards. https://riser.maxcloudon.com/en/
  5. Well, my computer has developed an intermittent fault that I cannot identify. The system would crash to a black screen. The CPU Ez led would be lit, and the debug code would be 00. After a minute or so, the system would boot as normal automatically. Sometimes, it would throw a BSOD, but it would be so fast, that the screen would go black as it was in a gradient to said blue screen. I've never been able to identify the error code, as windows doesn't have time to log it. Other than that, it works fine. Just "fine". Edit I'm going to be looking for a more suitable chassis. It'll need to have space for an ATX motherboard, two power supplies, and at least 9 GPU's. 4 PSU's if I choose to go get some 4xxx GPU's.

CALL TO ACTION: I am looking for people to work…

I used to use Laravel 5.4 with PHP 7.2 a few years ago. I have built a few CMS's for game communities aswell. That was a long time ago, but I can offer help if required.
  7. My system is very stable. The 3080 LHR and the 2080s is on the chipset, via the ADT-Link NVME adapters. 3080 has 4 lanes at PCIe 4, whilst the 2080s is only getting... 2. Seriously. I'm not complaining, as it's working fine and is stable. The GPU's as plugged in: 1050Ti - x1 lane (Runs the display) 3080 Palit - Chipset (M.2, Gen 4), 4 lanes 3080 Gigabyte - CPU (Gen 4), 4 lanes 2080 Super - Chipset (M.2), 2 lanes (?) 2060 - Bifurcate #1 (CPU, 4 lanes) 2060 - Bifurcate #3 (CPU, 4 lanes) 1080 - Bifurcate #4 (CPU, 4 lanes) GPU-z screenshots There is space for one more GPU, with 4 CPU lanes, and 800 watts left on the second power supply. One for the geeks After the installation of the second power supply, the water pump was officially kicked out of the case. Temperatures
  8. @cbigfootwon't stand a chance on the next folding event.
  9. GT 710. This is my test bench that I use to test GPU's and other hardware.
  10. My last hurrah. Another 3080. Had to power limit to 80%, as my spare PSU only came with one power cable. It's also very, very old. This is the very first time, overcoming the 20M PPD barrier.
  11. I take it, that the event ends tomorrow at midnight? My calendar only goes to today. @cbigfootmy last hurrah is getting delivered today. I probably won't beat you, but it will be close.
  12. Crypto mining has managed to pay for my food bill, and now I get paid in 3 days. Full steam ahead, just to catch @cbigfoot I also fixed my 2060, that was only getting 2 CPU lanes. Good blast from my compressor, has it working fully again.
  13. Well, this sucks. I've had a couple of transactions come out unexpectedly, which just hit the funds for my electric bill. As of now, I've no choice, but to stop folding for the continuation of this event. It's been a good while, blowing dust off my system. It's also good to know that it can still pack a punch. I should still qualify for a badge, right? It's been a good one. Until next year!
  14. Updated to W11. Had to update chipset and graphics drivers and bios, due to instability. All sorted now. After some consideration, my 1080 is crypto mining. Money is tight these days.
  15. The GTX 1080 is the final GPU install for my system. 3 GPU's and a CPU, and my 2 420 radiators still don't get too warm.
  16. My system is officially complete. You're in trouble, @Favebook Edit
  17. @vsteel , @Starman57your fight reminds me of the days when I was fighting with @cbigfoot. It's fun, until someone buys another GPU (Sorry for that :D) Tip from me. Check for the highest PPD on the cause preference with your configurations. You could gain some extra points.
  18. Just bought a watercooled 1080.. extra 1 million points? Maybe.
  19. It seems that the utilization is higher on some work units lately (At least in the past year). I'm considering building a new system, dedicated for compute, in the future. It's still in the works, however. Are there any motherboards out there that support dual bifurcation?
  20. Little points update. It seems my system has just woke up, and became a heater.
  21. System power usage Folding performance One of my 2060's is only getting 2 PCIe lanes, which I suspect to be a bent riser card from 1 year of heat. I'm in a shed with active ventilation, so temps are stable at this. I would also note that, my 2060's for what ever reason, are both underperforming. As mentioned above, I suspect that the riser cards are bent from heat, further information on GPU-z shows high PCIe bandwidth utilization. Previously, my system was capable of 12 - 13M PPD. It's aging, for sure. Will be seeing the points for today, will be interesting.
  22. Optimized my rig for folding. Might show in the points today, but probably tomorrow.
